Dems held serve for the historical trend of midterm elections.
Last 21 Midterms the average loss for the party in power was 31 seats.
Obama lost 63 seats in the house his first midterm.
He also lost his filibuster proof Senate.
This was not a blue wave.
And national results of popular votes like Dems getting 8% more votes doesn't mean anything.
The Democrats can win the Popular Vote every election and still stay out of power.
There are so many people in California and New York that they skew the numbers.
Winning California by 12% vs 100% doesn't gain any more House, Senate or Electoral votes more than what they already get.

Sounds like an unlikely dream to me. Trump is a boss and he doesn't back down which is one of the things I like about him.
