As far as I can find, he did not make any individual stock trades in the first term.
ETA- looks like some ETFs and individual stock sales in 2017.

Exactly this.
It boggles my mind how tribal the right has become. Used to be an almost exclusively left thing, but there is a huge segment on the right that would justify/rationalize literally anything he does.
On the other hand, I’m not sure “right” even applies to him anymore.

No he didn’t. Trumps assets are in a blind trust that employs money managers. They made the trades.

Don Jr may be a trustee of the blind trust, but I guarantee he isnt actively making stock trades either.

The big allegation against Trump is that his wealth doubled since becoming President in 2016. That is 7% a year. Awful for a billionaire. You probably make more than 7% a year.

I’m your huckleberry. Having his son as a trustee does not negate it being a blind trust. No matter what Bloomberg says. Show me the section of a trust code that supports that position.

Do I think Trump is influencing the discretionary trades in his portfolios? No, probably not.
Has he fully mitigated any potential conflicts of interest? No, not at all.

Show me a tax code that requires the trustee be an independent third party. I can show you those rules for irrevocable trusts and estate tax issues….show me the rules for blind trust issues.

You mean real-time trading disclosures? Those rules were put in place by the house or senate ethics committees which govern their own bodies. Go ahead and list a tax code provision requiring a blind trust be administered by an independent third party for those not in the house or senate. I’ll wait.
