That was due to a republican conspiracy and was thereby a good thing.

As stated by FBI, it could potentially reveal sources (people in the field who do intel collection(spies)) and methods (means by which we obtain intel from adversaries).
it's very likely this memo just talks about how the FBI used a DEM-funded oppo research memo to get a FISA warrant
assuming that's true, why do we want to protect anyone involved?
assuming that's true, why would we want to protect those methods?

What else could explain his not even ready by the memo before making up his mind.
irony because

It will be just like all the other conspiracy theories you guys constantly fall for.

I’m surprised you’re falling for this conspiracy theory.

Let's be real here. He likely didn't even read it past the first page.

Silliness.
Even the spin doesn’t say what you inferred.
So, before it was on his desk (therefore, before he could possibly read it) he is “convinced “ that he trusts his party’s leaders on that committee. It says NOTHING about his ability to change his mind after he actually had a chance to read it.
You are better than this.
Much like the memo itself: I am convinced it will be bad and important. Once I get the chance to read it, I may change my mind and think it’s a dud. But, my conviction NOW says nothing about my ability to be fair and change my mind later.
I love you, dude. Be better than this.

i'm surprised you're labeling this a conspiracy theory without having any sort of factual basis to support any conclusion (due to lack of evidence). also, what about me makes you think that i would want to protect a possibly corrupt government actor? i hate the government and a large part of that is hating corruption (and inefficiency)

....and that’s the last we will see of a Want in this thread after this nuke.

What you quoted makes zero mention of what was said in "the conversation" he had in mid-January. Aren't those details relevant to this gotcha attempt? Wouldn't his response to what he was told depend on, well, WHAT he was told?

Trump has known what's in the memo before it was written, hell, he probably help script it. This is high level chess and he played their queen into the corner after all the frauds had exposed themselves.
This is just the start
This is just the start

Go frick yourself, corrupt liar.

P.S. He apparently based his decision on Fox News segments he had seen. Unbelievable!
Fox News' Sean Hannity and Lou Dobbs are the ONLY two TV Sources that carried the momentum for any public exposure of what we will see today. Hannity was on this 9 months ago, and but for His pressure/support on the Republican Congress...it would have all been buried.
Trump is no idiot. Any honest and EDUCATED person knows what went that Obama weaponized DOJ/FBI/IRS. Ever since Obama had Dinesh D'Souza thrown in JAIL...that was it for me. I would have supported a bloody revolt after that; because if allowed to remain in power...they would have been coming for the PoliBoard in short order.
Trump.

i mean we all pretty much know what the memo is about. the FBI used the Steele memo as a basis for a FISA warrant against a person associated with Trump (most likely Carter Page)
does anyone want to counter this assumption?
does anyone want to counter this assumption?

"...could potentially...."
That's a mighty big "if maybe" don't you think?
Here's the deal. The IG report is coming out in a month or two. It's going to have ALL the dirt.
This memo is allegedly just the top hits. I do not believe the rank and file of either the FBI or the DOJ are corrupt (some could be, but the vast majority are not), and it is they who forced Comey's hand to re-open the HRC email investigation right before the election.
They know there's some shady crap going on, and this is a way for it to get exposed.
Could there be some short term damage to either agency? Perhaps, but keeping it covered up will do much greater harm in the long run.
If it's what it is being purported to be, then this will be great for the U. S. overall. If it is a dud, then Nunes et al have to face the consequences of besmirching the FBI and DOJ.

quote:He also said the SOTU was the highest rated ever. So we know he is prone to "colorful flamboyance" at times. Why do you think a private comment would be any different?
Trump made decision to release memo before reading it
It's also interesting you choose to believe if the memo was flawed, Trump would still release it, regardless of his private statement to a Congressman. In fact, odds are you've chimed in with complaints about "alterations to the memo" enacted by the WH.
Additionally, whether or not Trump read the memo prior to SOTU, the fact is Gen Kelly had read the memo and by that point had advised Trump on its release.
