Gyrations. I guess you can call it that if you too are barking up the same wrong tree as are some of Trump’s own supporters on this. He never said he was going to “prosecute her” but he did highlight, quite often, her long and sordid history of at minimum shady behavior and on the other hand blatantly illegal behavior. Probably most skewed towards the latter.
Can you imagine how silly it would be for Trump to right now be excoriating his opponents for their incomprehensible betrayal and abuse of our country by weaponizing our once proud American justice department and system against a political opponent, after having done the exact same thing during his own Presidency? Even I would have to rethink my support of a person under those circumstances. But thankfully I don’t have to because he didn’t. He talked the talk and walked the walk, albeit in reverse order. It’s a feather in his hat, not the other way around.

The US government is divided into three separate branches. The President is the Chief Executive. Meaning he is in charge of the Executive Branch. Even as a communist I know that Trump has no authority over the Judicial Branch.
He did make a promise to tell his AG to appoint a special prosecutor. He didn't do that because he never intended to do that. That was just something to get you fired up and excited. Sort of like building a wall. Red meat for you meant lots of golf for him.

Trump makes promises in 2015/2016 and doesn't fulfill those promises.
Trump makes promises in 2023/2024 and people memory hole his previous promises or make excuses (He can't actually prosecute because he's not a lawyer)
I think it's always worth mentioning that Trump just says things his audience wants to hear. We are better off using his four years in office to understand the things he actually cares about rather than another stump speech repeating promises from eight years ago.
