This won't happen simply because Trump will have to be on the debate stage to sniff his own farts for a national audience.

Reminds of when Larry Bird asked the other 3 point shot contestants who was going to get second place and then went out and won it.

His inability to embarrass a drugged up Biden was something to watch.

Desantis and Ramaswamy are no sleepy Joe

It is. But it goes way beyond that. It makes the debates about vying for Trumps running mate.

It makes Desantis Hail Mary strategy impotent.

And it frames Trump being the nominee a foregone conclusion.

This was brilliant.

It will not matter at all to his die hard base, he has them convinced that skipping a debate because he is scared is alpha.

I don’t think he’s scared.

I think it’s alpha as frick to frame it as a competition to be his running mate. He just won the debate by doing that.

Frankly, if Desantis were smart he’d back out and frame himself as someone who has no interest in that. That would frame him as a contender rather than a VP candidate.

I don’t think Desantis will do that for a couple of reasons. #1, his team is devoid of strategic thinkers in this kind of warfare. #2, it would require them to abandon what they think is their last real shot at eating into trumps lead (debate).

Nah, they will show up and Desantis will be on stage with all of the other loser candidates.

OK, so some where between 19% and 33%. I'm sure this will become more clear in the coming months. You better hope Haley stays in the race a while.

Of course it does (assuming he continues to define this as a 2nd place debate).

Nobody cares about the debate if Trump doesn’t show up.

Lunatic.

It makes Trump look weak to anyone not a sycophant.

No. You are wrong (as you often are).

This will positively impact Trump from the Republican electorate, as a whole.

Do you really not see it? Or, is this more about what you want to be true.
