My son bought his first house in 1st quarter 2021. It doubled in value in less than 2 years.

Which is indicative of a messed up real estate market.

Historically homes have appreciated somewhere between 2-4% annually, over the past 10 years residential real estate appreciation has averaged 7-8% annually and in some select locations much higher than 7-8%.

I see nothing wrong with that statement.

On average over the course of last several decades, we were told home values appreciated at around 3%. 2021-2025 were ridiculous inflated values and escalations of appreciation -- as was 1985-1986. The usually market corrects itself. The last time real estate values took a nasty dive was after the World Bank Lenders "Too big to fail" loan/theft of $16.8 TRILLION dollars from the US fed.

Trump has mis-spoken in this case. The President cannot be choosing winners and losers, nor slamming doors on a hopeful future of a real estate market that normally corrects itself

Some of the main problems that might short-circuit "normal" or "usual":

-- The 2020-2021 Covid-based demolition of small-medium businesses and interruption of the job-market continuity
-- The dramatic USD devaluation
-- Blackrock/Blackstone buying up inventory and stock-piling it
-- Loss of previous income levels and potential
-- Instability of steady, dependable employment in the private sector (as the govt public sector machination continues to expand, voting itself raise-hikes, benefits while maintaining tenure regardless of performance
-- Escalating property taxes, utility costs, insurance, and carrying fees
-- Lack of confidence in the US Dollar, the local, state, national and world economy, small-medium size business start-up and investor money
-- WEF threats of "You'll own nothing" in the near future (with ZERO rebuttal / refutation from any US President

I'd love to blame the Dem-Left for this and everything else. HOWEVER...

Last I looked it was the GOP who help the Executive Office, House AND Senate since Jan 20, 2025.

It would be wonderful too if dipshit congress could support what Trump wants too. Don’t be stupid and suggest the Republican majority helps.

And what happened last year when a small amount of spending was going to be cut by efficiency studies, department cuts, high fraud USAID handout elimination, and letting the democrat Covid subsides expire?

Rent a mobs and government shutdowns.

I never thought I'd see people celebrating the death of the American dream but here we are with you retards

Sad but true. I find it disappointing as well.

The runaway real estate "values" Big Picture bodes ill for everyone. But they don't see it, don't care. But everyone is vulnerable -- whether to jobs, illness, "crazy weather", goobment intrusions, or whatever unforeseen.

We've all been conditioned and programmed the flip-off those with bad timing as "lazy", "stupid" or "poor"-- and pat those with blessed timing and luck on the back.

More than that, it's always an "US vs THEM" game with them. Same extremist phenomena as with the Far Left. Both the Left and the MAGA loyalists other side of the coin are myopic and defensive about their political heroes' positions & policies. Neither side will allow themselves to be constructively critical of their guy with any clear sense of fair-mindedness or reason.

Or as what I prefer to reference them: Utter unbelievable nonsense that should have been totally ignored. (We have been betrayed).

ALL Astroturfed shenanigans and hoaxes (created BY NGOs??) require intense, deeeeep investigations, indictments, and finally arrests and sentencing at San Quinton.
