The media on twitter are now going off about “he can’t do that! He doesn’t have the authority!”

Nah. He will just did another EO to extend it until the midterms. Then again if necessary until Congress is forced to deal with it.

He’s probably referring to the fact that companies and their employees will owe quite a bit of money if the deferment isn’t forgiven. He’s definitely gambling on this one.

I hope he issues a statement that says he’ll rescind it to avoid a lawsuit if the Democrats agree to pass it.

He doesn’t probably have the authority to do this; but the Democrats don’t have the political ability to sue to stop it.

It really is delicious

Take your case to the SCOTUS

The former POTUS governed by EO fiat for 8 years but am quite confident that was different

Yep, seems quite a few people do not understand what a deferment means.

It’s easy to kick the can down the road when paying the bill is irrelevant to you if you lose.

If it bites him in the arse, it still will have served the purpose of keeping him in there long enough to get bitten.

Every American should oppose any EO not just this one.

Socialism is delicious isn’t it. Soon the dollar won’t be worth anymore than the Venezuelan Bolivar. The idea the R’s are any better at protecting the economy than the D’s is outrageous.

Obama and DACA is the reason this one happen.. If the SCOTUS did their job and strike down DACA this EO never happens..

Better yet. The media would have to downplay Covid to paint this as a bad/irresponsible thing for Trump.

The Dems’ idea of negotiations is “I get 95% of stuff and you get 5%.”

At this point, the only thing to really negotiate on is an actual stimulus.

He best hope the Republicans take the house and are in a mood to make him look good otherwise he is going to be left twisting in the wind and go down as the most hated POTUS in history.

Anybody in congress that votes against a bill forgiving the uncollected tax will be out of a job by the next election.

They can't simply increase the percentage slightly until it's paid back when the deferment runs out?
