But what harm are they doing? If any have broken the law then I can understand but if they have lived in the USA peacefully all these years and made lives for themselves then a bit of common decency is needed.

In 30 years they couldn't have at least tried to become a citizen?

Probably should have taken the opportunity to go through the citizenship process.

If they have been in the U.S for two decades then they have probably made lives for themselves and maybe even have kids.
There has to be a humane way of dealing with a situation like this. You can’t just tell them all to go unless you are a heartless bastard.
Your arrogance is amazing. I couldn't imagine being a foreign national and thinking it was appropriate for me to tell citizens of a country how they should implement immigration law.

Wish some stranger would just go squat in his house indefinitely.
Shouldn't be an issue as long as they aren't doing any harm

That has nothing to do with it. THEY AREN'T CITIZENS OF THIS COUNTRY. THEY WERE ALLOWED HERE TEMPORARILY.
period. the end.
Take your emotions out of this and look at it objectively. Just try it.

Part of me doesn't even believe he's being truthful. Probably Rex's sock account

Sorry but what a count Trump is if this is true. They are human beings FFS.
And they can be human beings in what ever country they are citizens of.

I would say exactly the same if it was happening where I am from. Check out the windrush scandal. Shameful.
I don’t base my arguments depending on what country it is. You people say they have been given 18 months? That is not the point. They have basically been told “get out of this country, you are worthless”.

Then why haven't they applied for citizenship?

They were displaced because of a hurricane...nearly 20 years ago. The United states has been more than gracious hosting them for this long.
Their country is in proper shape to receive them back. What's the problem?

No one told them they are worthless.
That’s your interpretation.
They are breaking the law.
They’re being given a huge amount of leeway.

They have basically been told “get out of this country, you are worthless”.
because the factual statment is "get out of this country, you are not a citizen".

Nope. They've been told "Times up. You've had years to become a citizen and have chosen, for whatever reason, not to. So you have to go back to your country." It's quite simple, actually.

Incorrect. That statement came from your own head and is driven solely by emotion.
They have been hosted for far longer than they should have been and now it's time for them to go home.
How many people in need are you currently housing for decades? Since you care so fricking much.
