On what planet is Trump living? The EV credit was an incentive to buy an EV or PHEV, but in no way did it force anyone to buy anything. And was for more than just Elon's Tesla's. Applied to any EV or PHEV pretty much (although you did have to lease to get it for certain manufacturers).
