You're referring to that concept that deep down, their interests really end up aligning. But I don't really get the sense that Trump's interests quite align with the true swamp dwellers. Traditionally they all seem to be suspiciously cordial to one another, with intermittent instances of confrontation and disagreement to keep folks off their trail. Not so much with Trump, not so much. Interests =/= aligned

If you look at the stats from the 2016 election white males with no college were a huge demographic that pulled Trump across the line in many states, that he still has them in his court is a big plus. White males with college includes a large contingent of people under 30 that don’t actually vote. People forget that people with college degrees in the US still represent a minority of voters.

Instead of getting the Blexit the Trump campaign pandered so hard for and called Biden the biggest racist that was too tough on crime, Trump ended up with Wexit, bleeding white working class voters after he decided to let his campaign convey the perception that he's soft on crime.
