Negotiated by both parties. Republicans are urging him to sign it.

Extremely bad optics if he doesn't, particularly after the SOTU where he pushed for compromise between the parties.

If he doesn't sign it, and the government shuts down, his approvals will take a huge hit, and Republicans will bail ship.

That means he probably won't sign it.

compromise between the parties.

So the parties agreed to frick 'Merica and he's supposed to be OK with it?

You may want to rethink this.

If I were Trump, I'd publicly state my reasons why I wasn't signing it and send it back to Congress.

This plan isn't reasonable by ANY stretch of the imagination.

Limiting how many people you arrest...WTF?

What a load of crap. He didn't get anything close to what he wanted. Spineless Repubs caved in. I would absolutely love for him to veto it.

And no, he wouldn't lose a single Trump voter for vetoing a bill that didn't give him his 5 billion and they cut funding for ICE.

You must be blind because all of the Trump folks on here have said they would be pissed if he does sign it.

I have no problem with incremental builds, but I don't like less money for ICE. He should veto it and put every Republican on record for overriding the veto.

What’s wrong with getting $2.5B now and $1.25B next year and campaigning on, “I’m working with both sides in Congress, let me finish the job.”?

Shows he can compromise and leaves him short about $1.25B of the amount he asked for.

Agreed. Their votes get lost in the shuffle and they need to be held to account.

He wouldn't lose my vote if he vetoed it.

Trump won't sign this garbage! His votes are intact and he knows it. This is an extremely small amount of the federal budget and the Dems are just trying to continually poke him in the eye. They own this one and Trump needs to veto it. Less than he demanded and reducing ICE funding, not happening on his watch! MAGA

Yep. It's the best he's going to get. The Senate GOP has no stomach for another shutdown. If the public will for full wall funding was going to happen, the last shutdown would have yielded it. It didn't.

You've got enough to spin it as a "win", start spinning and keep the "need" for a wall as a reason to re-elect him and put the GOP back in the house.

Exactly!

Are they going to be so mad at him for allowing the dems to only fund 55 miles, that they will vote for the dems to open the borders?

They backed down on limiting beds so criminals could get in. Read todays news...Trump needs to take this deal. He has other funding from omnibus and can quietly do an EO (like they all did) to garner any further funding he needs. Or take money from HLS and the military budget.

Trump! should counter simply... "everything about this deal is perfect except the $ is a little too small. All Congress has to do is bump the number to $5.7B and I'll sign it on the spot. No other change is needed."
