For the better in my opinion. He is starting to realize that the financial consequences are a lot more dire than the actual virus itself.

or just maybe they have access to more information about this than we do?

I think he definitely knows something that we don’t. Especially regarding treatment.

Or he made the decision that a bad economy looks worse for him in a re-election year than a high body count.

Sicboy, a few things

1) trump has zero control over state and city shutdowns, so it is irrelevant what he thinks or says.

2) he has said repeatedly that he will listen to fauci et al when evaluating decisions going forward

3) stop acting like the economy is some separate entity from people’s lives. Bad economic downturns increase drug and alcohol consumption, and increase suicide rates

I think he knows this cocktail treatment of drugs is working.

Hell, the media blasted him for putting the economy before people's health 3 weeks ago. He hasn't changed his mind, he has returned to his original opinion which was correct.

Trump isn’t basing anything off of data or science. This is him just chewing at the bit because his hands are tied. He’s sidelined. 4-5 months of shutdown coming.

But also seeing the trends that outside of a few hot spots that should be quarantined our systems arent close to being overwhelmed

Look, this is a hard choice for all.

I have a brother who has congestive heart failure. He can live a nice long life with it. However, if he gets the corona virus, he'd probably die. He's 53 and other than his genetic heart condition, he's in pretty good shape. Right now, like the rest of his firm, he's working from home.

If we don't combat the corona virus NOW, people will just keep spreading it around (with many getting it multiple times and subject to multiple 14-21 day quarantines) for years.

People like my brother and the elderly will be required to work from home. Will firms and companies be required to retain these people? Will they be subject to the protections of the ADA?

These are hard questions and I don't believe that there is any "right" answer.

You must have missed his press briefing yesterday. He said the same thing yesterday as he's saying today.

One thing I hate seeing is economist talk. As someone who studied economics, those idiots are specialized in one thing, just like doctors. We shouldn't be basing anything off one person, but a collection - which is what Trump is doing. He knows he cant be focused on one thing.

I'm so sorry the dire predictions you morons believed in didn't come true.

Now, go vote for brain dead Joe. Perfect representation of you.
