They both want to stick it to the establishment and people who fancy themselves global elites. Trump has never been truly a member of the manhattan elite and they shunned him at every turn.

I would also argue Twitter was its prime during Obama first term and first couple years of his second. Twitter is completely dying now (which makes what Trump is doing with the platform even more impressive)

That's certainly another piece of it. Enlisting all these bankers to run shite gives him "hand" over the establishment types that held him in some degree of disdain. Then there's holding court over the endless stream of CEOs, like they're contestants on The Apprentice, any one of which is a better man or woman than he. I actually don't mind that, as a business-friendly WH is in my interests big time, but I don't trust it, any more that than I trust the administration explicitly saying they use the stock market as their benchmark. FFS, that's a fickle mistress. It's like it's all arranged to fuel @real's narcissism, and that's the experiment the "working white class" you mentioned has decided to run.

Now, if the "health care" bill passes this week, it will be nothing like what he promised and the crowds cheered, but a lot of the base will be happy that it takes shite away from people they hold in disdain, that they perceive are the cause of all their problems. They'll ignore the breaks it gives to people like Warren Buffet, who say they don't need the breaks. The system will continue on its path to implosion because the root problems haven't been addressed, which BTW is why Obamacare was a dismal failure from the start, and in the end, nothing has changed. At least we got some funny tweets on the way there, I guess.
