I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this.

Either you don't know the definition of hyperbole or you didn't read the article in OP. Come on man.
As one of the Davos players put it, "take everything Trump says very seriously, but not necessarily literally."
E.g., Trump also said inflation was the worst ever during the Biden years (probably referencing rate of escalation rather than peak %). He scolded Moynihan for refusing conservative customers (referencing asymmetric debanking). He's bragged the pre-Covid economy of his first term was the best ever, "like nothing anybody's ever seen." He says we're going to tariff China 60%. Then he says we're going to tariff China 10%. Etc. Etc.
Hyperbole.

Besides losing his job by resigning, why is he so hell bent on staying there and not helping? Can you answer that?

Lol. They won't?
No.... Actually, Lower Interest Rates will inflate the Housing Bubble even more. That's why we have a Housing Bubble now because they kept rates low for to long

I just asked "Copilot" about removal of the chairman of the federal reserve and it said the President could do it.
Who knew????
Who knew????

Why do you think Trump wants to lower rates?
Because that's what the people want.
The higher the interest rates, the higher their interest income.

Initially during Covid it was a combination of really low rates coupled with scarcity. I fear a glut more than low rates.

You keep assuming every homeowner has a mortgage.
Millions of U.S. homeowners own their houses free and clear of debt, including me.
As long as we could borrow in the 2's, and write the interest off to boot, we kept notes on our places and invested the money.
When we moved this summer though, the insanely low rates were history even with private sources, so we became one of the 43% along with you.

The last time I looked up that data, which was pre-COVID, the percent was around 35% as I recall.

6-7% interest rates for commercial and personal loans is not historically high by any measure. It seems the lower the Fed funds rate is the more reckless both businesses and individuals become with cheap money.
When people put their hard earned money into a bank it should never earn less than the current rate of inflation and it should certainly earn more than paltry .002% that insane ZIRP policy brings.

Lowering rates will initially increase demand, which over the course of months will increase pricing.
I was listening live and heard "inflation" not "interest".
Trump said interest rate, not inflation rates.
The odd thing is a Trump economic advisor this evening was citing the recent FFR decreases before hitting targets as a mistake.
So I'm not sure WTF they're pushing as policy
