Trump could target 3 Fed Governors

President Donald Trump has new ammunition he can use in his campaign against his perceived opponents at the Federal Reserve, although a watchdog report released Wednesday found no basis for criminal charges stemming from the Fed’s costly headquarters renovations.
Combined with separate disputes involving governors Lisa Cook and Michael Barr, Trump’s decision to pin the headquarters spending issues on former Chair Jerome Powell means the president could potentially seek the removal of as many as three of the Fed’s seven board members. But recent court rulings suggest any attempt would face significant legal hurdles.
Any legal maneuvers could take months to play out and may in practice have the effect of persuading his targets to postpone any plans to leave the Fed, as Powell has already done. Trump’s ability to force the Fed off its recent decision to raise interest rates appears limited, despite the institutional damage he could do if he took further legal action.
Trump appears to be weighing his options for how to proceed. The Fed is scheduled to announce its latest interest-rate decision on Oct. 28, only days before the Nov. 3 midterm election. The administration faces a deadline in the Cook case shortly after the vote.

I hate the Fed more than most.
But the president having a policy of inflation is going to be met with higher rates, and it should be considering the feds actual job is to prevent inflation.
They are shitty at their jobs and I'd love to just end them completely.
But complaining because they won't allow more inflation ain't the play.

Over the past year.
And you quote core which removes food and energy costs, the things that effect Americans the most....because you don't want to say 3.4%.
I'm pretty sure 3.4% is also the rate in the formula the Fed uses.
Gotta make it appear the least as possible because you're more worried about spinning a narrative than looking for the truth and what matters to people.
And much of that is because of how much the rates have increased since 2022 from less than 1% to over 5% and now still over 4%.
You can't lower taxes, increase spending and then expect to have lower interest rates and no inflation.

he's not going to understand any of that
just another clapping seal

I'm honestly not sure what exactly you are trying to say here and I'm not sure you do either.
Because it's wrong in every way I can think of that you might be trying to claim. I recognized your 2.4% claim earlier, but that same metric was 3.9% a year ago and didn't drop below 3% until May of this year.
The metric you ignore hasn't been below 3% over the past year and was over 4% at one point.
And the metric the Fed prefers is over 3% right now.
And we haven't even gotten into the recency bias of these metric. Since 2020, it's closer to 25-30% inflation.
It's even higher than that if you count things that matter like food and energy. Well over 50% and sometimes even more. And that's what the average America is actually feeling right now.

The heavy inflation started under Trump. Remember those checks that got sent out and all those other "stimulus packages".
Remember he just basically gave away 3 trillion dollars in those...while the economy was obviously struggling due to lockdowns? Yeah, that might cause a little inflation.
And beyond that, what a surprise that you now resort to making up shite to deflect from the topic you can't keep up in.
shite, pivot and shite. That's all you do.

I know you won't, but you should realize how all of this makes you sound. Someone comes in here and gives actual data and logical thoughts, and you just deflect and claimed they voted for Biden and called them a dummy.
Spending about 30 seconds looking through their post history would show you that none of that is accurate.
You realize its completely reasonable to not vote for democrats and also at the same time not support the current administration's fiscal policies right?
And no, I didn't vote for Biden or Kamala.

It was Bidens combo of birdbrain and JPow who said inflation was transitory that got us into this mess
You again expose yourself as a TDS riddled clown

Are you under contract to lie and say stupid shite here?
Because I can't imagine what in the hell would make you try to claim/pretend like inflation shows up immediately.
Do you really think they print up money and the inflation shows up the same day? Like seriously?

What specifcally was the lie?
And if you and I know that injecting 3trill into the economy would caise inflation how did Birdbrain and thebFed Chair not see it and allow it to run rampant by not jacking rates up lile Volcker?

That's not the discussion. The discussion was what causes the inflation. Trump and Biden were responsible for it.
I'm not a fan of the Fed and I'm not going to defend their decisions. They shouldn't even exist or be allowed to print money as debt in the first place. We've had lower rates than we should have had for many years now.
The rates we have now are still relatively low. In the 80s it was in the 10-20% range. In the 90s when we had good economic growth and a balanced budget it was about what it is now, between 3-6%.
I'd eliminate the entire federal reserve system if it was up to me. But there is no system out there in which you can cut taxes, increase spending and not get inflation. For all the faults with the Fed, this isn't one of them.
For the record: Inflation should be 0%.

Until Trump pushed for the inflation starting CARES Act.
Then Oatmeal Brain Biden threw lighter fluid on it.

So what was the lie?
Sure but one is solely responsible for letting run rampant.
Ok. But it wont ever be. So always saying this is stupid
