They can also do things that NOPD cannot do, and the State AG's office has much more resources than Orleans Parish DA's office does, and they don't have to listen to Jason Williams saying not to prosecute.

Like what? If LSP arrests in Orleans Parish they are turned over to New Orleans, booked into OPP and the DAs office is responsible for the case. Williams is not going to throw away a class 3 felony....it just does not happen. He might throw out a minor possession charge.

Psychologically yes. But NOPD does about 95% of the heavy lifting. 6 -7 cops spread out on Bourbon and running highway duty can only do so much in the city. They really are not on the surface streets other than around S.Johnson and Tulane

Cops are reactive. Policing isn’t proactive. Policing doesn’t prevent a significant amount of crime because police show up after crime has been committed.

My grandfather was NOPD he used to say that cops were a lot like garbage men.....he referred to his job as clean up.
