Actually he can do that. He has Bessent set up the account in a neutral territory by law 31 USC 9705 Treasury Forfeiture Fund.
Sec. 9705(a) - “There is established in the Treasury of the United States a fund to be known as the “Department of the Treasury Forfeiture Fund”…

?Legal Logic: By framing the oil as property "stolen" from U.S. companies, the Treasury treats current oil sales as the recovery of illicitly obtained assets. Under asset forfeiture law (specifically 18 U.S.C. § 981), the government can seize the "fruits of a crime" [2.2].
?2. The Use of "Shadow Fleet" Seizures
?Before Maduro's removal, the U.S. began physically seizing tankers (such as the Skipper) from the "shadow fleet"—vessels used to bypass sanctions [1.5].
?Determination: Because these vessels were involved in violating U.S. sanctions and money laundering laws (18 U.S.C. § 1956), the cargo (oil) became subject to civil forfeiture [2.3].
?The TFF Link: Once seized under these law enforcement authorities, 31 U.S.C. § 9705 mandates that the proceeds from the sale of such property be deposited into the Treasury Forfeiture Fund [2.3, 2.5].

If only they cared this much about trillions being frauded from within our government.

Thats funny you used AI to tell you that because I also used AI to tell me how they would handle the funds. So someone's AI is inferior.
Lol. Could be. I don't have a dog in this fight. I just want to know what's true. Were the Iranian funds designated as "Foreign Government Deposit Funds?"
That's what my initial (human) research caught. That the fiction was that the funds belonged to Venezuela (which would seem to eliminate the "forfeiture").

Your AI is using someone else opinions on the already passed law. They are opinions, not arbiters of the law

But my absolute favorite opinion in there was this:
quote:
Funds held on behalf of foreign governments (e.g., Venezuelan oil revenue) are not forfeiture proceeds, but rather are classified as Foreign Government Deposit Funds under recent policy/executive orders.
You know how quickly Trump can change that opinion? By just penning another executive order
And to think, you went thru so much effort

Correct. Massie and his followers are only delegitimizing themselves the more they focus on this Epstein thing. Massie could name the names as he said he would. shite his followers are the ones who continue to bump my threads.

They're no different than the Leftists inflicted with TDS. It's weird to witness, but they can't help themselves. Facts don't matter. It's all about their feelings.

Which already passed law?

I’m so sick of this guy and his leaking vagina.
He very obviously doesn’t enjoy winning.

I’ve been trying to find a definition of “Foreign Government Deposit Funds” in the U.S. Code. Not having much success.

Love how you can take people saying that Massie is wrong and then give you the details of why and you some how claim victory by calling it emotions when there was nothing emotional about the facts.

Look at the posters they’re always emotional and the same ones to attack and derail threads. Roadgator made a Massie thread last night as bait and nobody took it and it fell off. The same people have the ability to stay out of threads they don’t like and it will drop. They’re so worried about discrediting this administration everyday.

Again you’re in my thread. I didn’t post in your Massie thread last night. You can’t control yourself. You’ve followed my account since I’ve posted here.

Stop making things up. I'm just using ChatGPT as a conversation starter. If you know anything about the legality of "Foreign Government Deposit Funds" from "government controlled" (whatever that means) accounts in Qatar, enlighten us.
This is complicated...and fun...stuff. Why does everything have to be a personal attack. Does curiosity threaten you?
