They probably think they have a chance to peel off some Bernie Bros. Biden is an Establishment hack of the highest order, and I'm sure that bothers some BB's.

Finally! Trump’s media baws need to target Cuckborough’s show. Put Trump ads during commercial break that show nothing but Morning Melt Montage Madness. I want to see Cuckborough’s face after Team Trump plays a Morning Melt Montage of the Melt loons saying Trump would be impeached and imprisoned during the Mueller and Ukraine shams.

First thought, Trump has the funds and is doing this as a troll. 
Second thought- despite editorials to the contrary, he's the legitimate incumbent president, and running a political ad during an election year is customary. It probably does subconsciously reinforce that he's an actual legit candidate, and not just a media target.
Hell, I don't think they can do anything about political ads, they are mandatory to be allowed and shown. He could flood the market, and if they try to limit or remove them, could affect their license with the FCC.
