Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said on Wednesday that she would be willing to endorse any bipartisan border security agreement that emerges from House-Senate negotiations, leaving the success of those talks largely hinging on President Trump’s endorsement.

With administration officials on Capitol Hill for the State of the Union address on Tuesday, Ms. Pelosi said she told Vice President Mike Pence that she hoped the White House would adhere to “the same hands-off policy” and let the bipartisan group of House and Senate lawmakers come to their conclusion ahead of the Feb. 15 deadline to keep the government fully funded.

Still could be a whole lot of nothing, because she probably knows that the Senate Dims won't agree to anything that includes a wall/barrier. Regardless this is an open sign of cracking and that Trump is still winning. She knows he is serious about the wall, and he will get it with or without the Dims. So her options are either get some DACA and other concessions that they have been wanting along with a wall or get a wall and a valentines card

This is a nothingburger. The Senate and House will never agree on this issue so it will still result in a shutdown.

Most likely; however, if the Senate GOPers can get some Dims on board with a deal then that would be a "bipartisan" agreement. In this scenario Nance will come out looking like a liar if she doesn't support it.

Did she ever say she wouldn’t? She knows what she’s told the House members negotiating it.

This

Nancy read the post SOTU speech polls and is merely trying to look as if she's not the obstructing force

The whole point of the committee is to deal with this.

Her point is valid.

I agree.

But what took her so long to make it?

How quickly we forget what she has been doing and saying for the past two months.

We'll see. Regardless, Nancy's pledge to "endorse" is a nothing burger because if the thing gets out of committee, IIRC it must be brought forward for a vote.

This is going to come back to those 30+ Dems who wrote the letter t Pelosi during the shutdown and urged her to give Trump the money.

They're under incredible pressure from their constituents to secure the border. If AngryGrandma is signaling she'll agree to a bipartisan compromise, she's trying to get ahead of the story that 3 dozen of her minions are about to break ranks on the floor vote.

The Committee will likely put forward a DOA proposal. Some of the comments have focused on this being a long term solution with limited funds available now. They will probably propose increased security measures now with the promise of Wall funding in the future. That is the Establishments go to "deal" in situations like this. Will Trump go for such a deal? Nancy seems to be trying to get ahead of this with her comments.

Yep, this is just so they can say we agreed to a bipartisan deal.

"I'll give $1 dollar for the wall." She's only said it like 100 times.

Don't remember, huh? Dude, by the time you're trying to incorrectly "white knight" for Nancy Pelosi, why don't you go ahead and admit the obvious? Politically speaking, you're about as liberal as it gets. A poor man's version of Draconian Sanctions (and he's a dumbass).

Sure, and if she's told her House negotiators that they do not have the authority to offer $2 for the wall, wouldn't her recent statement that she'll honor "any deal agreed to" still fit within her original parameters?

Keep shitting on the chess board and proclaiming victory, little Q pigeon.

"I'll give him $1 dollar to fund the wall."

"I'll agree to whatever the House negotiators come up with."

Dude, even you should be able to see the total contradiction there. The second statement flies in the face of the first one, despite you stupidly claiming that she's always said the same thing. You're a total lightweight, bro.

.

But it doesn’t if she knows she’s told her negotiators beforehand what her red lines are in terms of what deal she’ll accept.

you can tell who negotiates for a living and who doesn’t, Karla. You’re showing your weakness here but I’m not even sure you’re smart enough to realize it
