Can I see a receipt of these charitable contributions?

Right? If this is a gift TO ME, then I get the tax deduction. Give me my receipt or you didn't give me anything.

Oddly enough many of the regulars here were supporting the same idea for family members who were anti Trump.

Wouldn't the guy have done even better to have sold all his belongings and donated every penny he made over the bare amount necessary to sustain his life to the Government?

And then told his relatives that is what he did as Christmas presents?

I've seen some posts here by people who at least claimed to be taking that stance for the anti-Trump family members during Thanksgiving. Certainly a petty act both sides love to get in on.

I wonder what John and his boyfriend get next year?

I would make a donation, in their names, to a conversion therapy clinic. I bet their reaction to my gift to them would be far worse than my reaction to their gift to me.

Keep doing things like this and the liberals will keep losing influence.

Its almost like they don't realize that the Presidential election is the only race they stand a chance on. In Mississippi, the Dems ran a truck driver that did not even vote for himself nor have a headshot to give the media for GOVERNOR!!!!! This is a state that less than 20 years ago the Democrats controlled the Governor's Mansion and both chambers of the legislature.

I put Democrats and Alabama football fans in the same category. As long as they win in football (the President), who gives a shite about other sports (Congress, state races, etc.)

They had this same power in Alabama, while holding the State Legislature for over 100 years, and now want to blame Republicans for problems they've been trying to fix since taking over from the Democrats who created them.

Nope, no one would feel the actual need to justify it (or not) to someone like yourself who apparently is quite fond of stereotypes.

I don't need any sort of justification....I know how most of y'all are.....that ain't a stereotype my friend that is a life time of experience...no more than stating that most people have a couple of arms and legs is a stereotype...it is a fact (although on average people have less than 2 arms and 2 legs....)

And whats more is I know I ain't the only one with a family like this....everyone I ever met in the south had the same kind of folks in their family

The older generations tend to be a little rougher around the edges (Maw Maws and Paw Paws) but I take the Clerks 2 way of looking at it. They are really fricking old and that's how it was when they were growing up. If you would be honest you would admit that it gets less and less rough around the edges as you move down generations.

Crap like this is why Trump won. Democrats care more about throwing insults than engaging intellectually.

Well, I can actually claim the opposite. I might have some of those in the distant family, like 3rd or fourth cousins, but I couldn't name any.

I don't even know anyone in my family on disability or welfare.

"Hell I can...I have quit going around most of my extended family for years because all they want to do is talk about what Fox news told them to talk about and use horrible language to describe women and gay people and black people. Who needs to be around a bunch of bible thumping racist conservatives addicted to Fox news who are mad because their social security checks just don't fit the lifestyle of a 55 year old....life is too short and everyone of them will try to borrow money from you before they leave...."

Is it just me or does this read like it was written by a shitty Hollywood or New York screenwriter writing a script on what they think small-town or Southern families are like? Are you even from the South?

For future reference, saying "Grace" before family meals does not equate to Bible thumping.

Well, the rest of the family should get them MAGA hats and crying towels for their presents.

If one of my family members gave a donation in my name to PP, my response would be to ask for the receipt, contact PP and request a refund of the "donation made in error", then double it and donate it to the National Right to Life Foundation in THEIR name, make a copy of the receipt and share what I did my a-hole relative.

Fify. Would be even better.
