Try to keep in mind the super outside shot that he says such things for a particular “strategic” purpose. Perhaps not every single time, but much if not most of the time. I know that might be too difficult for some to fathom (not specifically directing that to you), but maybe, just maybe it’s the slightest outside possibility.

I find it acceptable to "push the envelope" in a rally but not flat out lie.
