I'm not sure how to read this. On one hand it could mean that the dollar is so strong that there isn't as much need to bribe...errrrrr..."aid" other countries into using it. On the other hand, it could be that the value of the dollar around the world has gotten so bad that these countries don't want them anymore. Or it could be something else entirely. Who knows?

Whatever it is I bet you think there is some nefarious conspiracy happening.
The conspiracy is that we're sending these countries bribes in the form of "aid." Hopefully it comes to an end. But for what reason is my question.

Oh, I can do all the math too. I know the fricking government is broken too and am not white-knighting for the president or anyone else. I specifically chose the number because we have been getting raped for at least that amount for a while.

We apparently are arguing about different things. I am not gullible or stupid though. I am not one of the retarded cats watching the government’s pen light on the wall. I know that I am still going to be one of the 150,000 or whatever other numbers you used. They are not going to reduce spending at all and I will probably get taxed even worse with a few more prime earning years remaining. Hell, I am not even mad at you except, for just a moment, I want to imagine I am one of the 150,000 that was a lil less tax-raped and don’t want to feel like a rounding error.

In other words, I fricking hate FEDGOV. Ok, I feel a little better now.
Gratitude.

You seem highly intelligent. Tell the board why you think this is happening.

We are broke plus $38T in debt. How can anyone expect us to take care of the entire world?

What a clownish take. If the dollar is so low why don’t you donate yours to us?

That's .2% of the federal budget.

It's a rounding error. And a small one at that.

Everything the feds spend money on is a rounding error. But there are a lot of rounding errors. I applaud the elimination of every one of these rounding errors.

Well, more and more countries are getting turned off by the dollar. We just spend 20-plus years in the Middle East because of it. Now we're threatening Venezuela because of it. I'm just trying to put 2 and 2 together.

What's your take on why this is happening?

I was also addressing him on the matter. I just hate being part of that rounding error.

How about we just give the UN all of our discontinued pennies.

And sell the building to a big corporation. The U.N. could meet in 5 acres of Lincoln Park. We'll even throw in lots of folding chairs for the delegates' comfort.

I'm betting this is about as low as it can get without breaking the law.

Trump should let the UN know if they want additional funds to see the Somalians

Good. Let other countries start ponying up their share of funding for all the feel good stuff they care about.

European countries can fund all their entitlement programs because they’ve had the US subsidizing their defense and funding all these UN programs for decades

If the U.S. wants to supply aid somewhere this should be the only way and there should be an independent non corrupt entity to do so.

Why can't the US donate world aid money DIRECTLY to the recipient instead of going through the UN. I'm sure a lot of money gets wasted and diverted to non charitable causes once the UN gets its hands on the donation.

Directly to the recipient usually has negative ramifications if there is corruption in the government. Not through the UN though, but at least with some oversight.
