Trump $250 bill

Another of Trump's vanity projects is in the spotlight-----apparently Trump reassigned the director of the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), Patricia "Patty" Solimene, after she pushed back against the administration's request to immediately print the new $250 bill featuring Trump's face, even though under current U.S. law it is illegal to portray a living person on American currency.
Just curious as to how we make sense of this? Any contrarian thoughts that may sway public opinion?

I'm not a fan of Trump putting his name or picture on everything, but the upside is that they would be introducing a new bill. I'm all for the government pushing paper cash and not a CBDC.

How about you post the facts? A congressman made a bill and it’s sitting in congress. In the press conference Scott acknowledged that and that no living person can be on the bill, unless it’s changed by law. They have made drafts as it’s a possibility but it likely will never pass through congress.

If you don't like my opinion, what would your reaction be to a leftist putting themselves on currency while still in office? We would all lose our collective sh*t.

ETA: Ok, based on what Deboar said, if Trump didn't initiate this, I'll walk back what I said a little. But it still would have been smarter to tamp this idea down rather than having a press conference about it.

You keep saying that but as I mentioned in the post, the “Trump Admin” did the reassignment of the director.
What facts are we missing?
Did Trump personally propose the department of war name change? No but his admin did and he gets the credit. You can't have it both ways
Do you somehow think Trump has no idea this $250 bill idea is floating around, and he did not sign off on it?
