Couldn't be further from the truth. The tariffs on China are still there and every other country is negotating.
YOU ARE RETARDED! CONGRATULATIONS!!

No one really gives a shite what you believe or don't believe. Just say "Thank you", then shut the phuck up and move the phuck along.

Imagine you have three kids and they all have bad grades.
You punish all three.
Kid #1 says you're right dad and starts studying and getting better grades
Kid #2 is a bit grumpy at first but ultimately buckles down and studies too
Kid #3 says it's all your fault, kicks and screams about it and refuses to improve their grades nor study.
You remove punishment from kids #1 & #2 but increase the punishment for kid #3.
Did you "back down" on the first two kids or did you simply recognize and reward that they're doing what you desire so there's no need to hammer them further?

so he paused.
Right now, his estimated consolidated new tariff rate to be assessed during the "pause" is ~17%. Yet he left you with the impression he reversed course. Had he started there, at a 17% tariff rate, counterparties and folks like yourself would be throwing conniption fits.

Dude, the countries are still coming to the table to negotiate deals. What part of that do you not understand?
1) Don't worry. You'll get him next time.
2) Sorry the twin human cartoon characters Kamala and Tampon Timmy couldn't get it done for you last November. Please don't be sad.

I don’t think that’s what’s going on at all. Trump is doing three things:
1. Dropping tariffs on all allies who showed a willingness to negotiate in good faith. Why would we punish countries in the midst of a negotiation?
2. Signaling that China is the real threat, as they have displayed in laddering up their tariffs.
3. Making clear to domestic companies that manufacturing of essential goods cannot be done in China. First preference is to move stateside (especially with a national security angle). Second preference is to other non-China countries who give us favorable/no tariffs.

I hate to break it to you but a few days of stock market performance is not the economy.

The man literally said in an interview that the pause is ONLY for the countries who wanted to renegotiate. Jesus Christ you people are so sad.

You must be one of those everything at face value guys.
Sometimes you have to tap your toe in the water to see how hot or cold it is first before diving in.

You forgot to add the part about you being a 3x Trump voter and “as MAGA as anyone”.
No Soros bux for you!

Trump reversed course... Let's not try to spin this.
You obviously have a comprhension problem. Trump hasn't reversed course. Nations are lining up to kiss his rear-end. They want to negotiate with Trump about lowering or getting rid of their tariffs. That was Trump's goal and he won. Why punish nations who are doing what you want. He still hasn't let up on China.

if we return to status quo, then he will have failed. if we end up with zero tariff barriers, the it will be a major win. likely it will be somewhere in between
Kind of like … negotiations, huh ?

Not for the "bring back our small towns" crowd.
This is clearly not any sort of guarantee, assuming in your arguments that is being treated as one is not productive. The entire tariff ordeal of the past few weeks was never geared to directly “bring back our small towns” - it can only influence it happening. It’s an effort, one that would be very difficult to measure, and impossible to measure in the near term.
In other words, this “crowd” that you have conjured up exists in your head. You want someone to be wrong, and as this thing develops it becomes a less and less worthwhile talking point.

Stop kidding yourself, retard
Posted on 4/10/25 at 10:12 am to bamabonners
That is not how Trump thinks or operates.

No he didn't and no they won't.
