What is so funny is most of the so called technology companies in the last 10-20 years say amazon, uber, name it, etc. really only exist because of the Fed. Rates plummeting from 80s to basically near negative today.

If rates were like in the 80s, 10-20%... virtually all of them would have went belly up long ago. A company like Amazon has eliminated some inefficiency but its not really viable in a normal financial world i.e normal rates.

Tech companies before the 2010s to me eliminated enough inefficiencies to a degree... but all these tech companies today are just stock sellers because of the Fed funds rate.

What is uber, its a stock company. Most of the people under 40 really have no idea what real business is, because they've never had to deal with a realistic rates.

Venezuela should have hired some of them to write an app, oh but they did, they were going to get rich off of bitcoin.

I drove western 13 before going back to school. Had one load to Detroit. Here's how it will work. Large distribution centers on the perimeter of the no delivery zone. Here is how I was instructed to deliver Christmas boxes for Detroit department stores. Stop at the 76 Truck Stop, take a nap, shower whatever. At 11pm, get in your truck and head into Detroit. Take this exit, at the end of the off ramp turn left at the light. Do not stop or pick anyone up. Drive to our signs and stop at the gate. !2 foot tall Chain link fence with razor wire across the top. Two guards came out ...checked my shipping docs, gate open, I drove in and stopped at the next gate. Six guards and dogs were in that compound. "Do not get out of your truck." They dropped the landing gear, disconnected the air and lights, pulled the fifth wheel pin. Front gate opened ..."Follow the golf cart to the back lot, we'll put you in slot and come get you when you trailer is empty. Woke me up at 3am, hooked me back up, told me how to get on the highway and do not stop until I saw the 76 Truck Stop sign.

I had more security in that compound than when I had a load of explosives. MY only restriction there was to call in every 2 hours to let them know where I was located. Today it would all by GPS tracking.

Now take into account the social unrest that these autonomous trucks will have to traverse through. Or at least factor that into your equation and truck design.

Do you understand how easy it would be to "derail" these trucks on the interstate, especially with defuned police deparments? A kid could do it.

I’m not sure what you are arguing here. I’ve never said anything about autonomous zones or civil unrest.

you think driverless cars being the future is nonsense LOL

It’s going to happen. The trucking industry will undergo rapid changes in the next decade plus and we will have to deal with the economic fallout from that.

Trucking is the easiest industry to see but others are going to face the same issues. In medicine, radiology is in for a significant change. I know a lot of radiologist who are concerned about their future employability.

You, don't see what you think you see. You are going to have to leave your Mom's basement, to really learn about the world.

OTR baws do lot more than drive. No one knows the roads like they do whether it be interstate or state/county. They also do a lot of the unloading and restack to pallet
