This is what kills me when people argue against these bathroom laws, saying this example is just us fearmongering. A) Obviously, it does happen. B) We hear so many horror stories of atrocities done to kids (tortured and starved, thrown in ovens, sat on for punishment), why is something as "basic" as a sexual assault so far fetched?
Also, sort of a rhetorical question, but what requirements are there for someone to prove that they are transgender? Do they get a license, have to prove to a board that they identify as another gender? We know there are some vile sexual predators who look at this BS and say "hell, I'll just say I see myself as a woman and game on".
It's just gross.

If you read the article, you will note that the trans was a "family friend", so, unfortunately, this was likely to have happened regardless of bathrooms and the laws relating thereto. Fault falls squarely on the shoulders of the 10 yr old's parents.
