First, this article is messed up in so many ways, but it illustrates the confusion and dangers of the trans push.

New York Post

quote:

A transgender psychologist who has helped hundreds of teens transition has warned that it has “gone too far” — and fears many are making life-changing decisions because it’s “trendy” and pushed on social media. Erica Anderson, 71 — who is transgender herself — told the Los Angeles Times that she is horrified that even 13-year-old kids are now getting hormone treatment without even meeting with psychologists. I think it’s gone too far,” said Anderson, who until recently led the US professional society at the forefront of transgender care. For a while, we were all happy that society was becoming more accepting and more families than ever were embracing children that were gender variant. Now it’s got to the point where there are kids presenting at clinics whose parents say, ‘This just doesn’t make sense,‘” she said. I have these private thoughts: ‘This has gone too far. It’s going to get worse. I don’t want any part of it,’ ” she said. I worry that people will accuse me of setting the train in motion, as part of those who advocated the affirmative approach to gender in youth, even though that’s not a reasonable account of what happened.” She believes that the dramatic rise in teens seeking treatment is likely driven by peer pressure as much as wider acceptance of trans issues. “A fair number of kids are getting into it because it’s trendy,” she previously told the Washington Post. “I think in our haste to be supportive, we’re missing that element.” Despite her pioneering work, Anderson finds herself at odds with a trend to make it easier for anyone to transition. Dr. AJ Eckert, medical director of the Gender and Life-Affirming Medicine Program at the Anchor Health Initiative in Stamford, Conn., eschewed the need for therapy. “Being trans or gender diverse is not a mental illness, and compulsory psychotherapy is not the standard of care in the gender-affirming medical model,” Eckert, who is nonbinary and uses they/them pronouns, told the paper. “Forcing transgender and gender diverse youth through extensive assessments while their cis peers are affirmed in their identity without question conveys to [them] that they are not ‘normal,’” they said. As for Anderson’s claim that kids are trans just because it’s “trendy,” Eckert asked, “Is it trendy to be one of the most marginalized and vulnerable groups?”

The trans movement is going to be one of the last straws in the total destruction of American society.

Yes, yes it actually is, if you've been paying attention.

It reads like somebody fearing the backlash that he/she realizes is heading his/her way.

Eh, maybe. More likely just another arrow in the quiver of de-population.

In a society that values and parades being a part of a marginalized and vulnerable group as a strike against patriarchy and society at large?

The answer is yes.

Especially by youth who have any struggle finding their place in a giant world, we have a large "enter here" sign on being trans.

That’s exactly what I thought. It was more of an article written to try an exonerate the phycologist from blame.

I think the doctor got the words marginalized and protected mixed up.

It's exactly what it reads like.

And the backlash is coming. Trans, Black, whatever. The backlash is building up.

Things in motion tend to stay in motion, until friction is encountered.

And the friction is definitely building.

I could summarize the article like this.

“ I helped scores of teens transition and now I realize I was terribly wrong and I don’t want to be blamed for the harm I caused them and society.”

Correct, just the same way ALL mixed raced (white/black) individuals identify as "African-American".

Absofrickingloutely it is. Yet, they aren't really marginalized any longer. They seem to be advertised to the public on a daily basis. This guy is simply an activist looking to attract more people to his misery.

I'll give progressives one thing, they are masters of propaganda and word smithing.

They hijack the word gender, then call the genital mutilation of children "gender affirming care".

We need to use similar methods. Chopping off or mutilating perfectly healthy and operating tissues and organs is actually "biology denying malpractice".

Let me fix that for you...

“ I helped scores of teens transition and now I realize we are not as unique and different as we used to be. It's getting too popular, too mainstream. I don’t want to be blamed for the harm I caused this group.”

I encourage everyone to read this story of a young woman’s experience in transitioning and then later detransitioning. It is an excellent insight into how/why these kids decide they are trans. It is a long read, but worth every word!

of course this is the entire objective of all this shite. same MO as all the other crap, Pro-choice" - "systemic racism" - "visit our significant others on their death bed" - "domestic terrorism" - "misogyny" - "B.L.M." etc etc et al

Make it a discussion topic for kids - encourage them to voice their 'opinions' = grooming virtue signalers for all future stupid ideas.

Declaring to be trans is to join the new ‘cult of social misfits’. It’s nothing more than a mechanism for finding social belonging, and they have all the social clout.

This is what happens in the absence of social ridicule which some call bullying.

Good article you linked and the author obliterates the clown doctor asking the following...
quote:

As for Anderson’s claim that kids are trans just because it’s “trendy,” Eckert asked, “Is it trendy to be one of the most marginalized and vulnerable groups?

Author's reply...
quote:

On Tumblr, the situation was such that any claim to being “oppressed” would accumulate social credibility, while any unfortunate “privileged” status was justification for verbal abuse. As a “privileged” person, you were expected to constantly grovel and apologize

No shite? Giving kids surgery and treatments that will irreversibly alter their bodies and lives is a bad thing? I’m glad we have this tranny psychologist here to tell us all something anyone with a functioning brain already knew.
