The school already had an armed guard. Why would it be different if a select few, highly trained teachers were given guns to defend their charges?

That just proves the point of the 2nd Amendment. The only one you can truly count on is yourself. Taking away the right to firearms just makes people dependant on outside help and at the mercy of criminals.

I understand that since you're a lefty you believe in equality. You believe that everyone is equal. Therefore, you believe that every person is equally possessed of intelligence, character, honesty, bravery and a since of duty.

Never in my thoughts of teachers being able to carry have I thought that a teacher would be expected to hunt down the gunman. You lock the door, and protect your kids if the shooter enters.
Police are the offense, teacher would be the defense.
