Because they don't care about equality. They want power.

I think you're doing more damage to yourself by trying to defend what you said. Also, you mad!

What does this have to do with your racist arse comment?

I'm sorry you don't like being called racist. Don't post ridiculously racist shite on here, and that won't happen. Remember, all i asked you to do was go back and edit your post. You decided to triple down.

Sure thing. For everyone's knowledge, this is momentoftruth87's post on the first page.

Haley

representing a demographic, just like Scott. Both will never be anything more than they are.

I then asked...

quote:

And what is Scott?

MOT reply

quote:

A senator?

my reply

quote:

Senator is a demographic?

Momentoftruth87:

quote:

A republican candidate on stage, with others, that won’t be president. Yes that’s a demographic, a group of ppl. Explicitly those who won’t win.

my reply

quote:

Ah yes, that under-represented "Senator" demographic that we all hear about.

You said something racist as frick and now you're trying to cover. Maybe just edit your original post?

His reply

quote:

Lol it’s hilarious how you just took that bait and look like a dem.

I still agree with OP that society largely ignores non-college educated women, or wrongly pushes them into the college path regardless of ability.

We push a lot of people into the college path regardless of ability.

our nature prevents blue collar work from being seen as a broadly acceptable option for women, generally speaking.

Does it? Or are they just not interested in those jobs? I've seen the big push to STEM for women, but nobody looks down on female engineers, they're just not as interested in the field as men are, numbers-wise. I'm involved with our local tech college and while there are exceptions there are just a lot more women interested in practical nursing, massage or cosmetology than they are welding or marine engine repair.

I know she was quoting Thatcher. That’s doesn’t change anything.

A male saying anything approaching that about women would break the internet.

If the left didn't have double standards they'd have no standards at all.

Traditional gender roles … tho a quick internet search shows that’s changing—for better or for worse.

Certainly trades have long been male-dominated fields. A huge part of that is related to child rearing.

Currently I don’t think it’s as much a factor of men/women being “pushed” in certain directions; rather, it’s more about what types of jobs men and women are intrinsically drawn towards. Physical traits and the way boys and girls are raised likely contribute to present day numbers also.

Similarly there exist workforce jobs/careers that typically employ more women than men (e.g., nurses, teachers, receptionists, social services). That’s just life, but it’ll probably change as the years pass.

I have the utmost respect for anyone who masters a trade. If you can fix my A/C or keep my lights on, I believe I owe you far more than I pay my attorney.

Because there hasn't been such a massive and sustained push to try to attract them to those fields like there has been for things like STEM. Why they need to be actively recruited yet men don't is another question.

I wonder if Haley ever stops to think that all the roads, bridges, skyscrapers, drainage systems, etc. were built by men doing things?!

Same reason men aren’t being pushed there. Everyone wants to be CEO or an artist or some such.

Meantime our maid, who’s independent and an immigrant, is making a killing. I’ve asked what her schedule is and know what she charges. Good for her I say.
