The problem is you’re judging this from a point of singularity and not over time. A person who makes $200,000 once isn’t rich. They make it for 30 years, yes, likely.

No, that's not it. I'm saying I wouldn't trade my present position, for the one I was always in before.

I prefer to count my blessings, instead of dwelling on the downside.

Wait, so the people making between 200 and 350k are getting shafted?

Are we paying a flat tax now? Then yes. A progressive tax code means we get shafted. Yearly.

If a person who makes 200k isn't rich/upper class, what are they?

Income never equates to wealth. You can’t tell me someone is rich by looking at a W2.

Da fuq I'm not. I lived in my car a couple of time in college. I'm well north of $200k/yr. And as a business owner, I know I could be back in that car with quickness.

But none of that matters.

The math matters. There is no math that makes $200k a middle class income. Sorry.

I agree with you though... and this is an unpopular opinion (because everyone thinks they're "middle class")... the middle class gets ONE HELL OF A DEAL when it comes to taxes. They don't pay isht.

Nothing is going to change that. See the chart above.

Right, wealth pretty much refers to the stock of assets held by an individual, at a single point in time. How someone who makes 200k and over a year allocates their paycheck is on them.

Quit complaining and be thankful you make a decent living. At the same time understand you are not carrying anything except your family which is good. Otherwise it's difficult to decipher if you are bragging or complaining.

By most standards north of $350,000 is rich. Upper middle class is $200-349,999.

It’s still middle class. I’m not rich. I drive a truck. My wife a Subaru. We ain’t rich. But we also just starting out.

I am very thankful to the Lord for all his blessings.

The doesn’t mean I can’t throw tomatoes at our political class.

I don’t have any wealth. I have a budget. You’re being absolutely ridiculous.

Not by math. The difference between 200 and 350k is 5th and 4th percentiles.

Median income in 2019 was $75k, btw.

I know a billionaire. He drives a truck too. Cuts his own grass as well. Is he "middle clases" too?

I get that you don't feel rich. But feelings aren't objective.

You’re smarter than this non sequitur indicates.
