Tonight on the latest episode of "American Victimhood", hear the cries of thousands of people who make 4 times the average income whine about not getting a $1200 handout from the government.
Save it man. It's just an opportunity to brag about your income to a bunch of people who couldn't care less what you make.

You are completely refusing to admit that luck plays a role in the outcomes in life. This is truly amazing to witness.
A lot of outcomes are driven by randomness not luck.

Semantics. The point is that a lot of success or lack there of is determined by factors outside of one's control.
To act like your success is solely due to being a hard worker is being willfully ignorant.
That is my whole point.

It’s Not Easy Carrying America: No Stimulus I. Not getting a Stimulus II. Not even a PPP.
I just read a lot of stupidity in this thread.
They aren't able to comprehend what you are saying.
Most of these people on here probably don't pay Federal Income Tax because of the Child Tax Credit.
We need a flat tax (with no deductions) or a national sales tax.
I had no problem in not getting $1,200 until the idiots in D.C. decided to give it to Welfare scum and people on Social Security .
It was supposed to be a "relief" bill for working people and the self employed who got screwed because of the China Virus.
It turned into a "stimulus" package that screwed people who make this country run.
Remember tards , just because Federal Taxes comes out of your check , it doesn't mean you pay any if you get it all back (and then some) in a refund.

quote:Yes. The rest of us have been discussing household income. Try to keep up.
Oh look, FAMILY INCOME of $75,500.
And your 2x multiplier doesn’t work because families have a lot more pre-tax income. Don’t conflate wages with income.
quote:Nope. Pre tax deductions don’t count. So you’re leaving that off the top of you use hourly wages vs. income.
You're right, you can earn income in lots of other ways. Too bad the vast majority of Americans basically have a tax form that lists W-2 wages and not much else

What proportion of bad outcomes are entirely driven by randomness? LOL

Upper Middle Class whining because they're not getting stimulus checks? First of all it's really tacky. Second, you sound like a whiny entitled a-hole. Third, how fricking embarrassing for the rest of us. God help us if we've devolved to this kind of crybaby bs.
I don't think you get the point.
The point isn't that he's not getting a stimulus check.
The point is that he's disproportionately paying for yours.
Oh I get the point. I'm in the upper end of that salary range. I'm blessed, I have a fantastic career thats rapidly coming to an end. My Wife is also very well compensated for being an Attorney specializing in Real Estate and Acquisitions. I can't for the life of me understand what it takes for a person, who is very comfortable financially, to whine and complain that they're carrying society. YES WE ARE CARRYING SOCIETY. It's that unwritten covenant as a member of this society that we all pay our share. I don't like it anymore than the next guy, but there are times when shite happens, and you have to step up and be a contributing member, not get on the fricking internet , brag about how you much money you make, then whine about how being better off than 80% of the planet, is such an unfair burden. Spare me. It's classless.

There are two types of people who don’t complain about paying taxes:
1. Those who don’t pay any.
2. Those who have so much they’re unencumbered.
You’re clearly one of those.

I will add a third type.
Stupid people , that's people who pay a lot in taxes and have no problem propping up other people instead of taking care of their family.
It's like they value strangers more than their own family.

Non sequitor. Why can you guys not see that things such as family you were born into, race, health status, gender, intelligence, month you were born all play a role in the outcomes in life?
It does not mean you do not need to work or sacrifice to be successful. These factors that one does not choose explains some of the difference in outcomes.

Please copy and paste those things from the list you asked about. I'll wait.
When you have to resort to lying it's pretty obvious who the dumb-arse is.

Another lie.
Let me ask you this: are you in the income range that's being argued over here?
Because I am.
Just like DD, self-made, my mother taught 1st grade in a rural elementary school in Alabama and my father never went to college and managed a convenience store.
If you are not in that income range, but your premise is that inborn intelligence is what accounts for success, then how am I the idiot?
Posted on 7/28/20 at 6:14 pm to Taxing Authority
They could never quantify how many people are successful or unsuccessful due to "luck" it's just that it happens that's the problem.

I haven't seen every post in this thread, but I don't recall anyone claiming that they weren't relevant.
Your list didn't say those things. A couple of them were mentioned, but they were mentioned in the context of very specific qualifiers (such as how they affected a career in science, which is obviously a choice).

Yes. I do very well for myself. However, unlike you, I am not too proud to admit that I was born into a family that was able to help me through school to lessen my student loan burden and I was born of above average intelligence and in good health with no physical or mental disabilities.

That's awesome. Noone is trying to discount your successes in life. I am just pointing out that thinks outside your control led to your station in life.
You guys are so fricking defensive about this topic it is unbelievable.

I’m in that range for household income and I’m proud to not get a government handout. They can go eff themselves.
I also don’t give a crap if they create a 50% rate for incomes over $1M. Boohoo to all the fake Democrat socialists fat cats on Wall Street, Silicon Valley and Hollywood. These arse faces pedal that SJW crap down everyone’s mouth so they can pay the bill when their communist puppet makes it into the WH.
