Not sure how successful they’ll be but vcdl is organizing bus charters from all over the state.

Having lived in VA I can absolutely promise you there are a LOT of pissed off baws over this. They will not lay down and take this lightly. Over the years, VA has had some of the most gun friendly laws in the nation. This Governor is a shite stain on the great state of VA. He is also crazier and more dangerous in his current role than the law abiding citizens who own the weapons he wants to ban.

If Northam tries to call up the national guard I hope Trump countermands his arse and orders them to stand down or to protect the pro gun protesters

Virginia governor to ban guns from Capitol Grounds: We don’t want another Charlottesville

Seems like cars would be banned if this were the case.

If you are a cop or national guard soldier, and the governor tells you to disarm these folks, how do you even begin to do that if you wanted to? I know vast majority of both groups would not comply in the first place, but even the ones who want to comply with that order would be scared shitless.

I've lived all over VA - NOVA, Richmond and Southern VA.

I can promise you that the majority of Virginians outside of NOVA are irate over this and will not adhere to any of this garbage willingly.

That is a really bad idea for Northam, but realize this, because of VA's term limit on the governor of 1 term of 4 years he can say frick you to the voters. So do you think he GAF?

Yeah but that’s the problem. The state Government is now beholden to NOVA and it’s only getting worse.

Didn't West Virginia pass something where they'll accept any Virginia counties that want to seceded?

Why try this emergency ban? I’ve heard on this board that law enforcement is solidly behind the 2A folks so they won’t enforce the ban, will they?????

Of course they will. Just like they will enforce the other gun laws that are passed until they are told to kick down some doors and confiscate weapons. They might balk at that for a while out of fear but the Governor will find a crew willing to do it.

"We have received credible intelligence from our law enforcement agencies of threats of violence surrounding the demonstration planned for Monday," Northam said during a Wednesday news conference. "This includes extremist rhetoric similar to what has been seen before major incidents, such as Charlottesville in 2017."

And an emergency weapon's ban will keep this "credible threat" from turning into a reality? Yeah...I call bullshite. He's trying to paint the protestors as radicals. This is right out of the Progressive Playbook.
