I am an old school IKE moderate. My generation actually believed in God & County, not just just talked about it while being Commie loving heathens. BOTH sides need to focus on the DEBT, yet both focus on hot button issues like Abortion and Guns. We have a Corporate stooge in Sleepy Joe We have a Mobster stooge in Trumpty Dumpty Both sides have gone extreme in that NEITHER side represent the actual citizens and actual taxpayers. DJT did not serve his country and disrespects the uniform DJT is not a true Christian and disrespects the faith Anybody who supports this disrespect is an extreme Republican in my view and should form another party and stop calling themselves Republicans. They are not the Republican Party I respect from my youth and middle age.

Word salad that says nothing except that you don't like Trump, which is an understandable position except that you didn't answer the question. You just defined "extreme" as anyone who likes Trump, which is just your personal definition that is framed against nothing but your own preferences and personal feelings.

What political positions specifically has the GOP gone extreme on as framed against their historical political positions?

Abortion and guns are emotional topics and easy to understand. Good vs Evil crap, etc. Generally these issues really only affect a small minority of people in day to day life. But its easier than looking at big picture things like budgets and debt and public policy .

It's raw meat designed purposely to rile up the emotions

It's printed right on the currency for the love of God...

IN GOD WE TRUST was first pushed during the Civil War and added to a coin in 1864, only being used sparingly on an individual basis beforehand. It was applied to all currency in the 1950s.

Trump is the exact sort of secular moderate who asshats like that guy and the OP had been screeching about for years, telling everyone the type of candidate the GOP needed to find if it ever wanted to have a chance to relate to modern Americans and win elections.

The Democratic and Republican parties are becoming even more extreme ..

Well, you say Republicans are getting more extreme because the are now religious.

In reality, they are less telli that Bush 2 used to get elected. A lot of them were young earth people who thought the earth was 6000 years old. They were against gay anything.

Now they aren't against gays, they don't care. Just don't broadcast anything about your sex life.

Democrats have changed completely for the worse.

Open borders
Against the police
Dei
Reverse racism is still racism
Pro terrorist
Transing kids
Teaching young kids lgbtqia stuff
Hating America
Still blowing out the spending but even crazier than before
New monetary policy
Free medical for all
Free things for most including illegal aliens
Etc

That list was just typed out workout a pause. I'm sure the board could double that list explaining why the left has gotten more extreme.

Let's just say guys competing with women and can't tell the difference between a guy and a girl.

I forgot that freaking craziness.

The left is full on insane.

And they, like you, call the right more extreme because they push back on this insanity.

No, the right is less to the right than they used to be.

Sounds like I'm somewhere in the middle?

Actually, both parties are far to the left of where they once were.

Except he's a sad excuse of a hypocritical human being who doesn't know the first thing about diplomacy or unity. His personality and values alone make a whole lot of independents and moderate conservatives want to vote dem whether you want to believe it or not, simply because you can't trust a single thing he says. Biden's presidency has been easier to digest than Trump's has so far, and Biden is a joke.

There is a difference. Despite policy differences, the extreme left hates America and the extreme right loves America. I may not agree with either on policy, but I would sure rather hang with those who love my country than those actively trying to dismantle it.

I don’t think it makes many want to vote dem if they have even a modicum of conservative beliefs. The modern democrat party is insanely left. Conservatives and current democratic identity politics just don’t mesh AT ALL. I just think it makes them not vote or turns them off to the process.

Self described 'moderates' consistently score much lower on policy knowledge tests than 'left' or 'right.' They are too stupid to develop thinking based on philosophical ideology.
I am FAR to the right of any existing party. I believe 90% of govt agencies should be abolished. So, I'm not interested in a party for 'the middle' voters.

Adjectives aside, who do you vote for if you strongly believe that... ?

- Trickle-down economics is a myth and corporate greed is the reason for our shrinking middle class and needs to be curtailed ... and handouts and reparations are already given out far too often

- the nuclear family should be propped up and prioritized ... and abortion should be legal so society doesn't have to deal with the repercussions of millions more unwanted or generally poorly parented children

- weed, psychedelics, and cocaine should be legal, taxed, and regulated ... and most violent criminals are too far gone and need harsher penalties and restrictions for time served/bail/parole etc.

- churches need to be treated like the businesses that they are and taxed, with religion entirely staying out of state entities and public schools ... and public schools from elementaries to universities need zero focus on diversity and far more focus on meritocracy

- Trump isn't an option ... and Biden is too senile to know where he is at any given moment

This is something I generally agree with.

Our national pride has completely disappeared on the far left which is detestable, but the right doesn't have any good options either.

The Republican party will struggle to win from here on out.....
The GOP tries to win elections the old fashion way, while the DEMS are full blown "win at any cost"!

DEMS got away with cheating, and they will do it again.
