According to OpenSecrets.org, Steyer donated to Hillary Clinton; Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., who has repeatedly called for Trump’s impeachment; and Democratic candidates for Senate.
Congressional Democrats like Reps. Brad Sherman of California, Al Green of Texas and Waters also have called for the president’s impeachment.
Steyer and his super PAC, back in 2014, reportedly sought to raise $100 million to elect allies in the climate change fight – though they fell short of that goal, Steyer later denied setting it and Republicans went on to gain control of the Senate and pick up seats in the House and local races.

Don't forget that he also sent letters to all mayors and governors asking them to support impeachment. He was obviously positioned to make billions off the Clean Power Plan. Not only did the Trump admin pull the plug on that reg package but the it pulled the rug out from under a lot of people who were going to fleece industry and the government out of tons of money.
People keep saying that Trump isn't accomplishing anything but his admin has rolled back a ton of regulations. Each time a reg is rolled back, some one that was positioned to profit from that reg is burned. Also, all the lobbying money that they put into getting that reg passed is gone forever.
