No. My wife works for a doctors office, and is responsible for VA patients. Not a fricking chance in hell would I ever put my healthcare in their hands. I've brought lunch to my wife, and watched as she tried everything in her power to get approval for a VA patient to have emergency surgery on a fracture, only to have the VA put her on hold for 30 mins before disconnecting, they won't allow you to leave voicemails, they close for over an hour for lunch, and the inevitable, "Well this isnt the right department, I have to transfer you" game happens at least 3 times.

Nope. Cold warrior veteran of USN and USNR, very proud of my service and the actions I participated in(late 80s). I resigned from the USNR (I had completed my mandatory time) shortly after Bill Clinton was in office, because the 2nd drill weekend instead of playing Navy for the weekend shipmates were sent in vans like prisoners to pick up trash in areas of NO that quite frankly were more hairy than the bekka valley in Lebanon.
I had planned to stay in the USNR until retirement, I enjoyed it - but I signed up to fight communism, socialism and terrorism - not to pick up trash.

One might join to acquire the Skills to serve the above bolded. "enemies within"...being relevant. People don't leave/lose their skills when the leave the Military; for whatever reason.
I suspect that many Leftist who despise Constitutional America as founded...join for just that reason. And if any of us can "suspect" or imagine something...it's out there.

If I was young enough to enlist, I would only do so if we were directly attacked by the military of a foreign power and our sovereignty threatened. I would not be willing to go fight in oil wars or drug wars on the behalf of the military-industrial complex or the new world order.
