All true, but unfortunately today's politicians as well as the American people don't have the stomach to do something like this. That's why this thing was almost destined for failure to begin with. We constantly make the mistake of looking at things from a western civilized point of view. Not our fault because we actually value human life. However, you are dealing with a regime that doesn't think that way. They are willing to pay whatever the cost and let their people suffer however much is needed just to say we defeated and embarrassed the US. You will never defeat an enemy like that by limiting the damage you inflict on them.

Iran has existed in one form or another for over 1000 years. What you are proposing will create a humanitarian crisis that will effectively end non-Muslim influence in Europe, and in some major areas of the US. And…it will not end Iran. You cheat beaters are complete fools.

Some of ya'll are posting the size of Iran stating that it is a huge country.
What ya'll are missing is that large portions of Iran has little of no population.
It is mainly a desert country that has poor population.
Also some of you don't know what the definition of war is.
Today we still have people that lament and clutch their pearls that we dropped two nukes on Japan, a country with similar militaristic convictions of Iran. If the U.S. had to invade Japan with ground forces in 1945 we would have lost 2 million of our men doing so. Iran hides their convictions behind religion. Their religion has been brainwashing its' children to hate the west for the last 50 years. This religious ideology is a tough enemy to overcome.
If they really want to live like it is 600 A.D. then we need to oblige them and take out their electrical switching stations.
