How is a regional power with no ability to project outside a theater at best a death sentence?

Look I don't know how to say this without sounding condescending because I'm really really not trying to sound condescending. But you just have no idea what the frick you're talking about on this subject. Now I realize I'm just some dude on an internet board and I could claim anything and it doesn't have to be true. All I can tell you is fighting with us in the air is like having a boxing match with a guy that has great accuracy but he also has six foot arms. And on top of that shite you only have the ability to see 3 ft.

Top Gun was fun when it came out but we don't fight like that anymore we're not even trying to fight like that anymore. In fact if we are dodging the other plane we have already fricked up!

For one we dont even know if aircraft carriers in general are obsolete. With hypersonics, you’re sinking to the bottom of the ocean before you see what hit you.

I’m still upset we never got some good rate fighting footage out of the Ukraine war. I get it, but damn it would have been cool…

Ah there you go

Now do submarine capabilities.

No forward airfields.

We have everything from Guam to Australia Korea Philippines Japan.

We have superior ISR capabilities.

Hell we have more KC135 refuelers than they have airlift capabilities.

Any seaborne junk they have will currently be in the bottom of the Pacific with the quickness.

This is why I said I would probably be more concerned about our Navy but read what you wrote. That's the problem everybody else has been dealing with our airpower. They won't even see us. They will literally be falling out of the sky wondering who the frick shot them. Dog fights are dead

Look, I know you think I’m some guy who’s imagining planes twirling around shooting guns at each other but in reality the only people bringing up dog fighting and top gun are the rest of you. If yall wanna keep beating that strawman, be my guest. I’ll disengage bc repeatedly trying to shift the discussion back to what I actually said is too boring.

Anyways, I’ll try one last time.
I’ve read/heard about the same capabilities of our 5th gen fighters that you’re parroting now for over 10 years. “They can’t see us, they’ll get shot before they know we’re there, no one can compete”. This isnt something that you know, and that I dont know… What I’m saying is that THEY know, they HAVE known, and they WILL be prepared. Their mass production strategy does serve an advantage… bc in the event our fighters arent the ghosts we think they are, it WILL be a problem.

So new China planes beat old French planes? This is surprising?

The real story should be the Indians used Russian S400 anti air systems and those took down a bunch of Paki drones and rockets. The Russian systems work very well.

Well except we have far superior submarine capabilities. We have superior space assets
We have superior ISR capabilities. We have far superior naval assets. We have the ability to move larger amounts of forces and assets within days.

What they have is a much larger ground force with no way to deploy it without it dying in transit.

There is a big difference between a 4.5 generation fighter and a 5th generation fighter.

Yes submarine and space superiority is what will keep us alive. Everything conventional is now peer to peer.

Trump creating the space force in 2016 may end up being his greatest contribution.

Um. You do realize that we're not just guessing on this right? We frick with them on the edges all the goddamn time. Just like we do the Russians. Just like we do with our submarines. We test their airspace. We see if they even react. And I mean when I say all the time I mean all the fricking time. We have a very good idea of what they see and what they don't. We also have a very good idea of how soon we can detect them because you know they do go up in the air a lot. LOL and again you seem focused primarily on the end of individual combat plans while ignoring all of the other areas in the air we are superior. They have nothing even vaguely resembling our air support aircraft.

And you say you've been getting told this for a long time. Well you've been getting told it because it's been true for a long time.

On the ground it's much harder to play the sea but don't be seen game. Because there's Terrain. A smart enemy can take advantage of the terrain to nullify some of your Advanced capabilities. But in the sky you can't hide behind the clouds. In the sky either you see me or you don't. That's why the air superiority difference has existed for so long. I'm not saying they are incapable of ever catching the United States because that would be foolharty. But they haven't caught us yet. Not even close. And I mean seriously just not even close

Frankly his entire argument seems to be to deny the vast sensor differential. I honestly don't know what his point is at this point. At first he seemed to think that sheer numbers could overwhelm the fact we see you first but now he has shifted to being skeptical that we can see you first
