Dogfights like the movie Top Gun don't exist with modern tech.
The dumb chicoms will be trying to dog fight while we’re shooting missiles undetected.
Thats your prediction?

If we want to conquer and occupy China, this would matter.
You’ll need to conquer territory somewhere, like literally every successful engagement in human history.
Starting in the pacific… and they mass produce navy vessels just as fast as they produce aircraft.

They have zero blue water capability as it stands.

Hopefully our leadership isnt preparing for current conditions, but for future capabilities.
Its coming

Okay, F-22 takes on 10 enemy planes and has a 100% success rate. Cool.
The next day 10 more show up.
On and on.
You’ll constantly have to maintain air superiority, and eventually they’ll get theirs
I don't think you quite understand the difference having standoff capability gives you. And keep in mind. If I can dominate the airspace during initial confrontations as you describe that also means I can take out your ability to deploy more aircraft. You still need runways. If I'm dominating the airspace I can take out all of your support aircraft also. I don't think most people quite understand that one of the biggest advantages our Fighters have isn't even the jet they're in. It's the AWACS. The radar jammers. And other electronic warfare aircraft that'll also be up there.
Now don't get me wrong. I don't discount Chinese capabilities at all. The idea that they're just a bunch of Barbarians that don't know how to build a jet is silly. Especially given how much of our technology they steal.
But without going into a great deal of detail about how I would be able to make this assertion there's still a pretty good Gap in air capability. Frankly I would be more concerned about their ability to attack our Navy

They have no current ability to forward project power in any sustainable way

You know, if Poland could only have produced more horses, they would have beaten the German tanks...eventually.
The shermans were far less capable than german tanks. That’s the point.

Yes and I said horses, not Shermans

Doesn't really matter, China can't dogfight, they can't make engines.
Look at their shitty new junkstrocity with 3 fricking engines in it because they are so underpowered.

The F16 in the hundreds are nothing in more than a very lethal munitions platform for assets like the 35

Again war just isn't fought this way anymore. In the air or on the ground. The ability to kill your enemy before he even knows you're trying to kill him is what every military on the planet is trying to do and at least so far Nobody Does it Better than we do.
For most Jets on the planet when they got shot down by an F-35 they wouldn't even know who the frick shot them down. They wouldn't even be aware of the f-35s whereabouts. It would be like getting shut down by a ghost. Sure the F-35 isn't nearly as good in a dog fight but it has no intention of getting into one

Because all they need to do is A2AD

Like Russian jet motors they are throw away assets. Not that long ago the motors were worth about 500 to 1000 hours then they were scrapped.

Lol so no actual force projection.
Posted on 5/13/25 at 9:27 pm to Jbird
They been trying to copy russian designs for years and they can't get the manufacturing right.

Everything thus far has been non symmetric. We have no idea how well its going to go.

Plus you can use F16s to carry munitions for the 35

IDK, there’s articles from that part of the world claiming it’s a conspiracy by the American news media to label the Dassault ineffective against Chinese hardware. Our media is full of shite but I’m betting their media is even more full of shite.
Yup it's non stop misinformation.
Both of those countries are in dick measuring mode.

They have limited command and control capacity.
Limited combat experience.
No deep water Navy
What do they bring for to be he table currently or in the near future?

Actually we have a very good idea of the sensor superiority of the F-35 and really of the sensor superiority we have with our support aircraft also. Our ability to see you before you see us has no peer. They might have equipment that can fly with our plans. In fact I'm pretty confident their planes can fly very comfortably with our planes. But they can't see us like we see them. Mainly that's a function of budgets. I mean we just spend a stupid fricking amount of money on it. It's not like we're better than they are necessarily. It's just that we throw more resources at it
