BREAKING: U.S. Intelligence admits that TikTok's threat is purely “hypothetical” and has failed to provide any evidence that TikTok has ever coordinated with the Chinese government, according to a spokesperson at the FBI.

US intelligence community strikes again trying to make policy.

Imagine believing that TikTok was an independent business free from CCP oversight. That would be moronic.

That being said, this legislation is shite.

I don't necessarily disagree that China COULD step in and cause a problem, but it's a dangerous precedent to start banning things because of hypothetical situations.

It isn’t hypothetical.

The CCP owns TikTok, / discussion.

Just like they own EVERY company in China.

This legislation is still shite.

Tell us that you have no clue how a business works in a communist state, without telling us you have no clue how a business works in a communist state

They are assigned "minders", that have access to, and observe and report everything (plus steal IPs) back to the party. Its not a hypothetical

US intelligence also claimed Russian collusion and Hunter's laptop was Russian disinformation.

Oh, Meta isn't selling everything they know about you to anyone, including the Chinese? The bar for me is that TikTok gets access to multiple live angles of your face, which can unlock your phones, and even get you through immigration in a lot of countries. No risk there.

Foreign state actors want all the data. Does it have a use now? Maybe not, but it will in two years. Your purchasing history for Pet Supplies Plus? You think it's not important, but they're going to take the data anyway.

Nope.

The CCP rarely intervene, but ultimately, they own it all.

Tik Tok is undoubtedly terrible, but we’re doing this, because another foreign country, Israel, doesn’t like that they can’t influence the media Tik Tok displays.

The whole thing is crazy

Ultimately, parents are terrible. But what does Israel have to do with this? I communicate with all my big nosed buddies on Whatsapp (yes, I know still Meta) and Telegram.

Then why not ban any products manufactured in China?
You can't, that's why. American businesses are to invested in Chinese manufacturing, and American consumers are as well.

This video explains it pretty well. Israel does not like their almost total lack of support on TikTok.

X - AIPAC connection to TikTok bill

They will probably come after X next because of videos like the one I just posted.
