Anyone remember a while back, when a brand new poster started a Q spinoff thread with an OP that had some less-than-subtle antisemitic connotations?

I thought it immediately at the time, and still do, that the OP was a Rusky bot. They successfully had many of our veteran posters at each other's throats in just 20 minutes. It was a very successful divisive thread, by someone obviously well versed in the psychology of subtle innuendo.

Thread got whacked after a couple hours and I thought I heard the OP was banned, but it was pretty unnerving knowing how easy some of our most solid posters were manipulated. There have been other posters that I have been suspect of, but the one I refer to was, imo, 100% a bot. I was actually worried that some of our posters might actually show up for knuckle sammiches at Sonic...

I saw a report about a couple of Russian facebook or instagram accounts advocating Texas secession as example of Russians trying to divide us.

I'm thinking, SOFAKINGWHAT?

Texas secession is not a Russian idea, it's the idea of Americans/Texans. It has been around forever. If Russians are doing this, then all they are doing is recycling already existing ideas in a new format. They aren't coming up with anything original.

The 'divisiveness' was already here long before any Russian thought about it.

Russia’s disinformation teams trained their sights on a new target: special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. Having worked to help get Trump into the White House, they now worked to neutralize the biggest threat to his staying there.

The Russian operatives unloaded on Mueller through fake accounts on Facebook, Twitter and beyond, falsely claiming that the former FBI director was corrupt and that the allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 election were crackpot conspiracies.

WHERE'S THERE SMOKE? There's ....

. . . and it's coming from both sides, leaving nothing unscathed in-between. Far fetched folks fighting far fetched folks frequently farting fantasy.

A lot of our military are deployed...to the internet.

Hey, all you concerned citizens who have gotten riled up about taking a knee, chicks with dicks going to the bathroom, or caravans, great job. You’re so gullible that Russian teenage hackers who barely speak English know how to absolutely own you so hard that it steers election results to the point that our goddamn military has to get involved.

Rule of thumb: if old people get riled up about it, ignore it. It’s fake and probably Russian.

most of the ideas are real, are old, and are NOT Russian and have been around in American circles forever

as far as I can tell the only thing the Russians did is hold up a mirror to our faces and amplify the light a bit

The Russians goal, as stated by the IC, was to place doubt on the validity of the US electoral
Process. The left wing has done more to hand Russia their stated goal on a silver platter, with their 2 year temper tantrum, than Trump could have ever done.

The elderly are the easiest targets for hackers. They all have the internet, and few of them are savvy. Not uncommon for an old relative of mine to post something from an obvious fake site, and then I plug it into a Whois, and it’s registered in the Czech Republic.

I don’t know what the endgame is, but they’re picking on the people foolish enough to get riled up about these non-issues/distractions (including the majority of this board), and our military has to deal with it.

I know, I know. It’s a public school.

The exchange of ideas is a first Amendment right.

So because people in your family are slow, you make a bigoted remark about anyone with some years behind them? That’s bigotry. Well done.

You realize the left has done more to accomplish this for the Russians with Muh Russia than the dumb old people, right?

You're vastly underestimating the effect of “stoking the embers.” If our military is involved—and and they are, bigly—then this isn’t the “no big deal” you hope it is.

People around here are getting duped BAD.

Let's see.

Most young Dems favor Socialism.
80% of young Dems voted for a Socialist candidate.
Antifa, a communist front, is comprised nearly entirely of young people.

How do those facts jibe with your "old people get riled up" premise?

How do you think the CIA starts revolutions/rebellions when we want regime change?

Jesus, dude.

Given our dependence on constant media, our ideas and thoughts are affected by what we consume. If someone can affect what we consume, they can affect the way we think. If they can affect what we think, they can affect how we vote. If they can affect the way we vote, they somewhat run the country. It would behoove our country to keep this effect to a minimum. Military intelligence is on the task.

Y’all made Kaepernick so rich.

So, they exchange ideas with people?

The free exchange of ideas (even bad ones) is permitted in the U.S.A.

It sounds like you want total governmental control of information.

That's pretty damn scary.
