Just to clarify, (and I just looked it up) the SAVE Act if it becomes law would not required voter ID at the polls. What it would require is ID to register to vote.


So that's the deal. All these NGOs currently mass register people on the streets, nursing homes, low income neighborhoods, under bridges, etc. They may never vote but rest assured their vote counts for the Democrat candidate mostly on election day. Requiring an ID to register to vote would thwart mass voter registration campaigns.

This is correct and should only impact people who are not yet registered to vote.

That being said, Chip Roy and Mike Lee are proposing the SAVE America Act which is a new version of the SAVE Act that adds the requirement of individuals to present an eligible photo identification document before voting to the current SAVE ACT provisions.
