Never heard someone that aligns with my political beliefs more than Bill Maher. He has really been on fire lately IMO regarding the current state of affairs.

I know this is a right wing echo chamber, but I still think a lot of people in here would agree with him if they gave him a chance.

Maher has improved but people like him are the reason the slope became so slippery. If he’s wondering how shite got this way he needs to look in the mirror.

Maher is a socialist, and he doesn't hide from that. I disagree just about with everything he says, politically.

However, his recent comments just shows how far left the average democrat has gone. And while Maher is a socialist, he's not an anarchist. And that is what the left has become.

I think what Maher doing is great, because he's exposing to the leftists that are stuck in their echo chamber, just how far they have fallen.

I haven’t watched him in a while. I know, from time to time, he’ll have a contrarian take that I agree with. Generally, he’s a leftist with some libertarian tendencies.

What has he been saying that you agree with?

This. Maher is the reaction to the unintended consequences of liberal action. He is just as much responsible for today's culture as any other leftist. He's just a rare example on the left, of acknowledging how batshit crazy today is. Given his druthers, he'd still vote any leftist in over anyone right of Obama.

my opinion on people like Maher, Rogan, Krystal Ball, Bari Weiss, Matt Taibbi, or Jimmy Dore, is that I just ask for people like that to call balls and strikes fairly and when they do, I respect and appreciate it.

most of them i have strong policy disagreements, which is fine. we can debate the merits of higher taxes, socialized medicine, whatever, just realize the other side has valid points and don't call them racist/sexists/homophobes/etc. for wanting to get there a different way.

most of these people however, were broken by Trump and would accept and spread any and all lies or distortions of truth about him just to keep the left on the hook. Maher included.

We're acutely aware of every time Bill says something new, which seems like every week or two. He's still unapologetically maligned with conservatives socially and fiscally. but he is intellectually an honest guy within his own set of rules. i, for one, have always been drawn to his schtick even when i was young and politically unaware. i'd watch him with disdain... yet i kept tuning in and trying it out.

Bill Maher is a contrarian and an opportunist first. He seeks to spark a reaction, indifferent frim which side it comes. Yes, he does say things which I agree with from time to time.

Classic broken clock.

In the end they're paid well to create controversy, so you'll never know their true beliefs.

Its entertainment.

He absolutely hates religious people so frick him. I will acknowledge that he at least is a normal liberal and recognizes that his party is being taken over by lunatics.

that can be entirely true. especially of Maher.

I'm libertarian AF, but i'd hand the country over to a socialist like Dore or Maher well before i would a chrony statist like Biden.

or let me rephrase, i've voted solidly republican the last 20 years of voting (couple of blue dog democrats in the early 2000s and a few Ls when the republican sucked.) i'm a rush baby and listened to Levin, Hannity (if nobody else is on,) and Rush etc. in my 20s.

i vote just about the exact same way as I always have and for the most part have doubled down on my beliefs, but i'm much more interested in a Maher monologue or listening to Rogan or Dore than Hannity, Levin, Bongino, Shapiro, etc.

Definitely a step in the right direction although most here will resent his patronage because he isn't right of Billy Graham.
