He also says healthy people in their 40s are getting sick and out on respirators. So y’all be careful if that applies to you.

I heard he also said lockdown for everyone. The National Guard is in a briefing about delivering Amazon packages.

Obesity (BMI >30), diabetes, and high blood pressure make you more susceptible too. So if you have any of those then you should be careful.

The guy said the hospital admitted "dozens" and a third are on ventilators. "a third" out of dozens.

He also said this...

quote:

“There is a very real possibility that we might run out of ICU beds and at that point I don’t know what happens if patients get sick and need to be intubated and put on a ventilator. Is that person going to die because we don’t have the equipment to keep them alive? What if it goes on for months and dozens of people die because we don’t have the ventilators?

Is that our threat...that dozens dies over months?

Good thing so few Americans have high blood pressure, heart disease and/or diabetes, right?

bullshite. Can anyone confirm his credentials and the info? Cause I see a shite ton of people and we haven't seen any of this. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this is the same shite we've been treating all flu season and maybe last year. Same symptoms. Now we just have a name. shite was going away before we started looking for it. Every story I've seen like this so far has proven to be bullshite.

Great, lets put the state into a panic because a random person says the job is more difficult now and the symptoms are worse than expected for those in their 40s and 50s. No offense but I'm sure the average New Orleans citizen in their 50s isn't the most healthy out there.

I find it amazing how most people in that age group have no trouble with it and consider the symptoms rather mild.

What if the new treatment is able to keep this from happening and there are less cases to work? What if there was an article giving people hope and citing the many studies with the new treatment that has been being prescribed for weeks and working with great results? The power of positive thinking is very powerful.... it's amazing to see the media focus on mostly negatives.

There's no reason to have these sensationalized articles just strictly to put fear in the population. We all know what can happen but why scare so many in south Louisiana? This could lead to people dealing with some simple sinus/pollen issues to freak out and start to overload the hospitals.

This article tells us nothing we didn't already know.

Well remember that is one of the big problems the MSM has been trying to sky scream about with Trump. Is that he is being too positive or trying to give hope to people. I mean how fricking insane with TDS do you have to be to be pissed because your President istrying to give his people hope and positive thoughts in a time like this? But they are insane and pissed off because he is. They want people to die, they want Americans to suffer because OMB. Anything to gain power, Any suffering is good politics to beat Trump.

You need credentials to understand most ICU hospitals operate at 80-90% capacity regularly, without this virus being thrust upon them?

Dammit you dipshits are wearing us out. I think it should be law that if you report some shite like this, you damn well better present your name and credentials.

Then there wouldn’t be a need for as many of ventilators. Just saying.

I know you don't know shite. And this is bullshite. Prove me otherwise. No a single goddamn hospital I deal with (at least 10) are having any major issues...other than panic and dumbassery.

And LTAC's have vents. Plenty of vents to go around. Hell, I treated an ALS pt for over a year and 1/2 at home on a vent with no resources and no specialists. None of them do home visits. You stay home and bathe in your ignorance, and let us professionals take care of this overplay bullshite.

This person quoted in the article doesn't seem like too much of a thinker.

quote:

“Hopefully we don’t get there, but if you only have one ventilator, and you have two patients, you’re going to have to go with the one who has a higher likelihood of surviving. And I’m afraid we’ll get to that point. I’ve heard that’s happening in Italy.”

He's basing this on Italy.

Unfortunately for all of us, journalists "standards" are long gone thing of the past. Unnamed sources used to be reserved for physical threats, not chicken isht leakers. Single-sourced stories were considered incomplete and unready for publication.

Now that's all we get. But hey, there's an agenda to promote so...

It's worth a look in to ProPublica's history on medical reporting. You'll find at least one high-profile lawsuit there.

Without some independent confirmation of the described conditions... I'd recommend not letting this alarm anyone.
