Acknowledged they knew there were weak points due to the bollards being replaced for the SuperBowl, but its ok because they put a car out front and some officers... That was their solution.

No chance someone could driver around that car

I 100% agree the stupidity is astounding.

However, I just don't get the huge focus on these bollards.
Even if they did work and a terrorist couldn't access the road, they'll just plan a different attack that doesn't utilize a vehicle. Just as the would be working bollards, the police unit was parked there to prevent drunk drivers and morons from entering bourbon street not to block a terrorist attack.

And?

If he would have gone on foot, likely would be gunned down pretty quickly.

The press even prodded on it, "How many victims were shot as opposed to run over" and they wouldn't say.

I can agree with that. And honestly, they should've used something like temporary cement barriers, etc. to block the road 100% from vehicle travel including on the sidewalks but still allow for pedestrian traffic.

My only point was If a terrorist wants to attack something/somewhere, they will by whatever means, successful or not.

Regardless, our politicians are a joke.
