So you're OK with Joseph Smiths lifestyle of raping teenage girls.

You're OK with his rampant alcoholism

You think God lives on a Planet with his wife and was a human

You're OK with having TO WORK your way to one of your 3 levels of Heaven.

You're OK with preaching Mormon MEN can become God's on earth.

You're OK with having to store a years supply of food per Mormon rules or it's a sin

You're OK with your wedding ceremonies which end with a slashing of the neck to show that talking about the ceremony can result in death.

You're OK with creating an entirely new Bible based off the immoral Joseph Smith's hallucinations

On and On...Mormons are a cult, pure and simple

How could anyone not be aware of that unless they were totally ignorant of the formal name of the religion?

Because they are aware of the entire name of the religion.

Charles Manson invoked the name of Jesus too. Do you think he thought he was a Christian?

In Dominus Iesus, St John Paul II defined this dogma, quoting the Second Vatican Council's constitution Lumen Gentium:

Above all else, it must be firmly believed that “the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and baptism (cf. Mk 16:16; Jn 3:5), and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through baptism as through a door”.77 This doctrine must not be set against the universal salvific will of God (cf. 1 Tim 2:4); “it is necessary to keep these two truths together, namely, the real possibility of salvation in Christ for all mankind and the necessity of the Church for this salvation”.78

God's 10 Commandment #1 "have no other gods."

When you ask forgiveness of sin you are placing priest above God. Asking priest to forgive sin? and man is no better, all have sinned. You ask God to forgive.

Praying to Mary instead of praying to God = "have no other gods."

Asking forgiveness of sin to a priest = "have no other gods."

Do we pray yo Mary? Or do we ask that Mary, the mother of Jesus, pray for us?

And as far as confession

I am aware.

What I'm really curious about is that Heavenly Mother. Even LDS missionaries couldn't answer my question. Hmmm!

Mormons believe in Jesus similarly to the way Muslims do. The do not believe Jesus is God.

They believe in a 3 headed God.

AI Overview

The Godhead is the foundational Christian doctrine of the Trinity: one God existing eternally in three distinct but indivisible persons—the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit. These three share the same divine essence but fulfill different roles in salvation

So 3 gods or 1 god with 3 heads.

Sounds like both heresy and blasphemy.

They're not. Completely different and incompatible belief systems. Mormons are rank polytheists.

nb4 muh Trinity

That's one distinctive, but it's a pretty big one. Your facile little bit of mockery simply demonstrates how unlettered you are on a raft of relevant irreconcilable theological differences.

The Pentagon's mistake was singling them out as a non-Christian religion. Jehovah's Witnesses and Christian Scientists represent major departures from historic Christianity as well and should not have been included as Christian denominations either.

Really, you could say the same of a subset of mainline denominational churches. Many Methodist churches, for example, have imposed a leftist / deconstructionist ideological grid on the Scriptures to the point that they've long ceased to have an orthodox confession.

The Mormon mafia will steal your 200k Lego collection from from you though.

I do have a serious question though. Do Mormons have record of sucession to the original Christian faith? Like were their religious leaders ordained by other Christian leaders? Or did they just ordain themselves Christian?

The 'mistake' has been fixed by completely eliminating the 'Christian' label.

They claim to be descendants of tribes of Israel, specifically from the lineage of Joseph and Manasseh.

After that, good luck trying to make sense of the sci-fi in the Book of Mormon.

You peeps are ridiculous.

Ya'll **** all over Mormons but who do you think they overwhelmingly vote for? Democrats?

Mormons are quality people. I'm atheist and I will gladly live amongst LDS people before other groups of people... particularly Muslims.

Same goes for the Amish and Jehovah's witnesses. Weird but I ain't worried about them b/c they aren't a scourge on society.

When's the last time you read about or watched a video of a group of young Mormons/Amish/Jehovah's witnesses running amuck in public, committing smash and grab crimes, jumping people, stealing/destroying property, committing a mass shooting, etc...?

Mormons are a net positive for this country.
