You and your crowd haven't listened in the last several generations and show no signs of doing so whatsoever.
Your way of thinking about how we need to stop focusing on culture issues and just focus on the economy is a sickness and a weakness that has ruined conservatism and has enabled the communists to amass a lot of power.
I fell into the trap of social liberalism at a young age and it's one of my biggest regrets in life and has led to the degeneracy we see in our mainstream culture today.
Right now, I'm on a zero tolerance approach.

At your core You are no different than the virtue signaling progressive who thinks their way is the only way and your path to Godliness only gets more and more narrow as time goes on.

Olsteen is a good example of the moral rot in organized religion. Olsteen preaches prosperity gospel. It's pretty awful.
CS Lewis had a good essay on religion and personal discipline. It explains why religious rules are good for us. And why they're not close minded interference in "doing what we want."

Those "true conservatives decades ago" you cite would be on my side here stacking up the bodies of the left and GOPe fools who have allowed this degenerate culture to not only exist but entrench itself in mainstream culture.
But keep on thinking Milton Friedman would be ok constant surrender to the left with drag queen story hour, sex change surgery for children without parental consent, school age girls being forced to compete against biological men, mentally ill trannies seeking to represent entire states in public office.

Actually cancel culture is good.
We need cancel culture for people like you who want surrender the battle of mores to the marxist left and globalists.
Cancel culture is the inevitable enforcement of mores. Some behavior, speech, etc should be considered unacceptable. Conservatives have simply deluded themselves into believing a morally neutral society is possible or desirable, quitting the field to the left.

I forcefully condemned his impeachment vote and stated that I would support a viable challenger against Cassidy should one arise and make himself available.
With that said, Cassidy is not likely to run for reelection. He stated that he would serve only 2 terms in the senate and I took his impeachment vote as a confirmation of that.
