I think you have confused religious freedom with the anti-freedom stance of forcing your religion and religious values on others through government. If you want to live in a country that does that you can check and see if Iran are taking in immigrants.

We never had these people. At least not after the party shift in the sixties.

Asians are largely communal. And rugged individualism will never sell.

Gays are an insignificant percentage of the population. Perhaps 2% to 4% overall. And will invariably vote for Democrats. Chasing that vote is a bad return on investment.

Black and Hispanic voters do represent an opportunity though. And both are socially conservative, they’re more conservative than whites.

Winning the popular vote doesn’t win the presidency.

If you did want to capture the popular vote, you would have to build your policies around urban and suburban voters.

You would have to become the Democratic Party. And we already have a Democratic Party.

What's cringeworthy is evangelicals thinking their religious views are synonymous with conservatism.

This is what the Democrats are doing with their social justice movement. It is a religious crusade.

You can either fight back, or surrender

If you surrender, you’ll turning into the Democratic Party lite. That’s a loser on Election Day.

Conservatism comes from culture.

This kind of political malpractice should ignored. Asians, in general, believe in entrepreneurialism, hard work and meritocracy. To write that off is just plain ignorant.

This is the next battleground demographic. Thus the leftist/media declaration of "asian hate" now being an issue. Let's not surrender before the battle even starts.

In what reality is transgenderism conservative?

In the reality in which people should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as they don't violate the rights of others.

This is the libertarianism ideology in a nutshell.

Libertarianism is not conservatism.

Libertarianism not only allows but also promotes degeneracy like transgenderism.

Look, social conservatives are now a minority, and are losing numbers every day. They are a dying breed.

Most people just don't give a crap what people do in their personal lives, don't care who they sleep with, don't care how they identify themselves, etc.

If the GOP wants to start winning elections again, it needs to focus on the issues in which it can gather a majority of voters: focus on individual rights and freedoms.

You all voted for Trump. Maybe it's time to retire the "family values" talking point. It's obviously bullshite.

Libertarianism isn't social conservatism.

Social conservatism is closer to the politics of the Muslim countries, than it is to libertarianism.

Look, we can keep losing this battle, or we can focus on the battles that are easily winnable.

We can live with trannies and have a runaway liberal government, or we can live with trannies and bring some freaking fiscal discipline and individual rights back to our country. Which will it be?

Then Conservatism is already dead.

And I'm a Conservative. But I must not meet that purity test because I'm not a Christian one that thinks the government has no business in people's private affairs when they don't hurt anyone.

Look, wake up. The fact is that politics is downstream of culture. And a big part of the reason we're losing the political fight is because we surrendered the cultural one. And I'm sorry, but Jerry Falwell was the last shot at an Evangelical America and he lost. If you want to maintain conservative values, Judeo/Christian values, in this country, you need to be looking seriously at libertarianism as an ally. Not their batshit absolutists, but more the Rand Paul variety. That has an actual future that we could live with. And religion is protected there. It won't be under progressivism.

Or just give up and wonder how it came to this till you die.

Yes.

There is a difference between protecting religion, and mandating religion, and too many social conservatives want the latter.

Burke wrote that society was a compact between the dead, the living, and the unborn.

In this rush for me me me, and doing what we want, without a care for our fellow man, we’ve lost sight of our obligation to our ancestors, and the generations to come.

That selfishness is why no one cares about deficits, or anything past tomorrow.

This is why the GOP loses. Conservatism is about so much more than just social mores. “Traditional” values are gone. That battle was lost in the 60s and 70s.

Yet every time a Republican makes headway with the American people with a platform about fiscal conservatism, here come the social idiots screaming for a return to the 1950s. That was 70 years ago.

Let it go.

i can get on board with this... trump kinda taught us a few things... i dont give a rats arse what you do.. i just want you to put policies in place that will make us successful and you stay out of my life... i think that is winning conservatism... If he/she whatever, enacts the same policies as trump in California? Id vote for her/him whatever.. i dont give a shite... whatever makes you happy.. they second it effects my life, then we have a problem... visa vi, men in womens bathrooms...

hell, if they would allow civil unions (not marriage, that's in the bible) but give them that and let them have the financial benefits or marriage and you'd get a ton of gay people to vote red... things like sharing insurance, (helps many) adoption, and i don't care what anyone says, you put a kid in a home with two great gay people and that kid will be loved, financially supported and WAAAAY more successful than in a damn foster home or crack house..
