This is also the first salvo from the Biden campaign that he will not appear for debates

If its "not safe enough" to appear at his OWN CONVENTION for his acceptance speech, how will it be safe enough to appear at multiple debates?

It will not be. He will not agree to appear at debates, and the argument will be that Trump did such a poor job with Covid that it is't safe to do so. And of course, the media will sell that like crazy.

(Sorry for starting multiple threads on Biden not appearing, but I am just seeing the ripple effects of this and think it is a really big deal)

Trump should just show up at the debate site at the scheduled time and say "I'm here. Where's Joe?"

10000000% should do this. Have a debate against an empty chair since that is what Sleepy Joe is anyway.

I think it's as CA suggested in another thread. He is going to stay in the basement, accept the nomination from the basement, and then announce he is dropping out. Then they will insert someone else.

This is why the Soyboys love him. He stays in his basement just like they do.

I would say, put an empty podium up for Joe with a card board cut out of him, but that would perform better than ol creepy.

Even the retarded desperate democrats know they can do virtual debates with no audience and the candidates way far apart quite literally or on a stage...

It won't be Biden debating it will be Kamala, Rice or Cuomo.

This is a loser of an argument for Biden, I think. Even with widescale media coordination, which you're seeing.

I do think there is a broad conspiracy to test the waters on this, along the lines of:

1) Media/hard left - "let's rethink debates..."
2) GOP/right - "well well well this wasn't predictable AT ALL"
3) Media/left - "The idea that Biden doesn't want to debate is ridiculous, he wants to!"
4) Biden - "Yeah I want to! It's just this darn COVID-19"
5) Media/Left - "See! Enough with the GOP conspiracies on debating, all we're talking about is leading by example and the health of the nation."

That's basically where we're at, and I think we're set for several more weeks of posturing that Biden really wants these debates while simultaneously media/leftists continue sending up weather balloons to see if they can get some public momentum for no debates.

I don't think it'll happen, I think it's too transparent even when 90% of media is in on the ruse. There are too many alternatives/modifications available for Trump that will continually punk out the media and Biden.

First of all, Trump should never agree to that. Biden getting to stay at home and use cue cards for all of his answers.

2nd, Biden won't agree to that either. This is the first trial balloon of just cancelling them all together. At best, he knows Trump won't agree to a Zoom debate, so he can pin the blame on Trump.

Here's what's happening: Biden is playing the only had he has: I'm not Trump. And it's working.

Trump needs to call him out daily leading up to the election on this. Agree to a debate on any channel or place. Via Skype or live feed. Tell Biden you’ll come to his basement and debate from across the room.

I hadn't considered Susan Rice. Strong possibility they put her in over Cuomo, imo. She too is tied to the spygate stuff.

Trump should simply say, I am showing up at the debate sites. I will be on the stage, if the moderator refuses to show up, I will pick a moderator.

If the venue won't hold it, I'll find a venue that will.

And he should answer the questions asked, and every time he's done say "And what do you think Joe?" Cut to empty podium.

If CNN and MSNBC won't cover it, agree to deal with FOX for all of the debates, and stream them live on the internet.

Should edit in footage of Biden's incoherent thoughts for his responses

Seems to me, that remains to be seen.

It's probably comforting to know that you are confident in such a strategy.

If they did a skype debate, would their be concerns of cheating? I.E. getting help from someone either off-screen or with a hidden earpiece?
