If democrats win it is because at least a majority of voters necessary to put together an electoral majority have decided this is where the country needs to go. As hard as that is to fathom it will be a situation we on the right are going to have to deal with. I'm an older guy so imagine how much this country has changed in my lifetime. If it happens it will not be the end of the world. If they want to spend trillions more, they will just raise taxes to make it happen. Apparently that is ok with much of our population.

Why not? They control the House and are not far from the Senate in terms of numbers. Does it not concern you that the Overton window has shifted so far?

I spent 8 years saying anyone who believed Barack Obama was a socialist had no idea what socialism was (and Hillary for that matter). This campaign process is going to highlight the truth of that. You’ll be able to contrast this field with 2008 Obama and 2016 Hillary and realize “Holy shite, they were positively moderate by comparison”.
We’re on a whole other level right now, and those who watered down socialism for a decade to be able to tie it in with Obama are going to realize they did the nation a disservice. Now the word “socialism” doesn’t really scare anyone anymore, because we’ve cried wolf for so long. Now that we’re seeing the emergence of something truly resembling socialism, it’s not as big a deal as it should be.
