I'm short of being a boomer but I guess about 5 years. But in their defense. They arent the ones
But they largely were. Boomers blame millennials for lots of things without realizing their children are millennials. They are responsible for being the adults of the last 30 years that have voted for morons throughout the country.
Boomers lack self awareness

Except my kids are self sufficient and dont require BigGov like most Milliennials.
My favorite issue with Millennials was socialism. Mover 50% had a favorable opinion, less than 30% could even define it. If you want to know how fricked up these people are...

On average, survey respondents said they would need $1.2 million in the bank and a salary of $284,167 per year to be happy. But averages can conceal major differences among respondent groups. Here are the actual results broken out by each generation:
Generation Z: Annual income of $128,000, net worth of $487,711
Millennials: Annual income of $525,000, net worth of $1,699,571
Generation X: Annual income of $130,000, net worth of $1,213,759
Boomers: Annual income of $124,000, net worth of $999,945
Millennials are the outlier, of course. Really silly ideals.

Boomers benefited from dollar hegemony.
That's slowly fading because the BRICS nations are catching up. Not passing us up, catching up.

Years and years and years and years of “boomahs were horrible parents!!”
Now it’s the Millennials who are horrible parents and they somehow get a pass.

Probably because the parents are off somewhere posting selfies while hopped up on martinis and xanax.

Boomers are the modern day Democrats of generations

You can tell by the UP/DV ratio that this board is closer to social security than drinking age

Politics is dominated by everybody voting for their own benefit. It just so happens that Boomers have more people. That's not exactly earth-shattering news

It's my experience that pretty much everybody lacks self-awareness. I mean you're not wrong you're just not 100% correct

Holy shite this board loves boomers. I think its a matter of human nature sucking and not one generation in particular

I didn't see this before. Why the frick wouldn't you vote for your own benefit?

My boomer dad got home from the corps of engineers to avoid being drafted into the Korean “police action” to find his parents spent every penny he sent home for 3 years. Such an awful boomer he went to work and built his parents a new house (the only one they ever had with actual floors).
If your dad was draft age during Korea, he’s not a boomer. My dad was around the same age, and I don’t think there’s really name coined for that generation. A little kid during the Great Depression, and a middle schooler during WW2. Too young to be “Greatest Generation”. Too old to be boomers.

Youre right, keep voting for your kids and grandkids to be unemployed in lieu of infinite H1B visas from India. Your stock goes up! Hey, who cares that the entire culture and community around you is shite and your kid or grandkid just got laid off. YOUR STOCK HECKIN INCREASED BOOMER! Enjoy your cruise! Youre so special and talented and hardworking.

No. Actually it’s common sense.
What generation should be blamed primarily for Gen Z’s issues? Boomers is automatically the wrong answer BTW.
Millennials constantly bitch about Boomers being bad parents and how they are going to save the world…. Well.. turns out they suck too.

The whole labeling of generations thing never made sense to me. You're talking about millions of people. Law of averages says every generation has basically the same number of good/bad people as any other generation.
100% truth …but it doesn’t make for edgy message board banter.

These threads are always an interesting peek into society at the moment. Let's blame boomers, while boomers rush to defend themselves.
As a boomer (just barely), I take no offense to the bashing. I did the same thing when I was 30 - then I realized my Pops was right.
As harsh as it sounds, the only one who will always be there is the one you see in the mirror every day. Once you figure this out, the path is very easy to see - but often quiet difficult to follow at times.
My epiphany was looking at my newborn child - how I suddenly was responsible for someone else. My thoughts of being a victim of society were replaced with an overwhelming need to provide. And the rest just took care of itself.
For those who feel like they've drawn the short end of the stick, find another way to measure yourself.
And as a practical matter, blaming others never works - ask yourself how far victimhood has gotten you? Not very far, I would imagine.
